Despite advances in AI and other technologies, the core practice of excelling in college remains reading comprehension and essay writing. While these tools can act as a band-aid, they do not help students with foundational learning skills overall. With five years of experience in teaching college composition, I am aware of the gaps between high school and college literacy with which many students enter.
