About Me

I studied at the Department of Physics of the University of Ioannina, where I got to know physics better and I was finally sure of the choice I had made as a student.

My love for education led me to continue my studies at the University of Macedonia, in the Department of Social and Educational Policy, completing my master's degree entitled "Sciences of Education and Lifelong Learning".

The direction of my master's degree is, IT and new technologies in education. The supplies I got are what a modern teacher needs to have so that he can promote interactivity and make students love what they are learning.

Learning does not stop and should never stop, so I continued to attend lifelong learning programs from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which concern issues of adult education,

as well as from foreign universities such as the University of San Diego and the University of Virginia, with topics related to the fields of physics and the way a person learns.

My professional experience is 12 years old, starting as a student and continuing until now on the teaching of physics, as a collaborator in secondary schools and in the preparation of students for the national exams.

I am a certified teacher by the Ministry of Education of both Greece and England and I undertake the preparation of students in IB, IGCSE and International A-Level programs.

My name is Christos, and I hold advanced degrees from esteemed universities such as the University of Ioannina and the University of Macedonia.

I have completed lifelong learning programs in IT and new technologies in education as well as from other universities such as the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of San Diego and the University of Virginia.

My professional experience spans over 15 years, starting as a student and continuing until now on teaching physics, as a partner in middle school (craft center) tutoring and preparing students for the Panhellenic exams.

I am certified by both the Greek and English Ministries of Education and have experience working with international programs such as IB, IGCSE, and A-Levels.

I am also an examiner in England’s largest examination board (OCR) in the section H240/03 Pure Mathematics and Mechanics.

Often times in Math and Science subjects, students end up feeling lost because they didn't fully grasp a fundamental concept or gain enough confidence in using it. Classes often have a strict schedule to follow, which does not allow them the flexibility of revisiting concepts a student may have missed. Rather than marching on at an unstoppable pace, I place focus on figuring out what gaps in knowledge a student might have and addressing those first, to ensure their foundation is strong enough to always know what the next step is.

My goal is to teach a student how to use their pre-existing knowledge to be able to analyse new concepts and to develop their problem solving and inference skills. Being able to consistently figure out what you don't know and what you can figure out is the basis of strong learning and problem solving skills, and I aim to make this approach a second nature for my students.

Furthermore, knowing what inevitably needs to be memorized (and how to drill this information into your brain) and what can be easily reconstructed from a problem's given information and what you know, are, in my opinion, the cornerstones of efficient study and test-taking skills. Instilling this concept into my students' processes is another of my major goals.

As for whom this class may suit: I can teach Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics from an elementary school level to the university level (depending on the exact subject), and can teach Chemistry up to the high school senior level.
