One-to-one Online GCSE or Functional Skills Maths Tuition
I am a qualified mathematics tutor with over 20 years experience of teaching adults and teenagers in colleges in England as well as delivering private tuition. My specialism is teaching GCSE maths (Foundation and Higher) and Functional Skills maths (Level 1 and Level 2). The feedback I get from my learners is that I make the learning process fun, and I have many students telling me that they enjoyed maths for the first time in my lessons. The connections I make with my learners, as well as my energy and enthusiasm for the learning process are fundamental parts of what makes my sessions engaging. As well as effectively communicating mathematical concepts to them, I focus on
building their confidence in the subject, letting them know that it is okay to make mistakes, that mistakes are key to learning. Counselling my students through the learning process, containing their doubts and fears, is an important part of what I do. This can be empathising with them when they are frustrated and finding the subject difficult. It can be advising them on what they need to do to improve, or reassuring them that although they will forget what they learnt this week, it will come back to them later on when we focus on exam preparation.
Below is some of the feedback I have received:
Thank you for giving me another go this year at GCSE math. I felt a real benefit of doing it this year fingers crossed I can do you proud and passed. Anything I can do so I’m ready for access hopefully next year.
Many thanks to best math teacher I've ever had.

Aaron (Higher GCSE 2019)
Thank you very much for your kind message, I appreciate it. I am more than surprised that I passed because I had so much different things going on in my life back in that time that I couldn't give 100% of my self to it yet I am happy I passed.
I couldn't make it without your help, thank you. You are an amazing tutor.
Sonia (Foundation GCSE 2019)
We had a Great Teacher who is an Expert on Math!
Kind Regards Kathryn. (Foundation GCSE 2019)
Thanks so much for the stellar teaching! Really surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it. I'd go so far as to try the higher paper, if I could afford it! Might see you around this year, I've applied for Biology next. (That's going to set me back 400 quid so I can't really go for the higher Maths as well. Shame.)
Thanks again, you're a top teacher 👌
Di (Foundation GCSE 2019)
Thankyou! I couldn't have done it with out you.
You are an amazing teacher and even with all the distractions of the year you were able to help so many of us, which just goes to show how good you are!
Sian (Foundation GCSE 2019)
Hello, and thank you for your message of congratulations!
I am absolutely thrilled and delighted to have been able to pass GCSE Maths: I can't tell you how happy and surprised I feel. It was really a big challenge for me and I had to work very hard at it, from start to finish on the course. The exams were exacting, and I ran out of time on Paper 3, which was a scary experience.
But, I enjoyed all your classes very much indeed, and I passed thanks to your expert teaching, guidance, advice and encouragement. THANK YOU, and kindest regards to you.
All the very best, from Judy (Foundation GCSE 2019)
Thanks and thanks for being such a good teacher. I have enjoyed my year pushing my poor brain into areas it's never dared go before. Have a great summer, you have earned it.
Sylvia (Foundation GCSE 2020)
Thanks for being a great teacher this year, we really enjoyed your classes.
Katie (Foundation GCSE 2020)
I just wanted to thank you for all your help and support! You are a great teacher and it was a pleasure knowing you and being your student. I wish you all the best!
Linda (Higher GCSE 2020)
Thanks so much Kat. What a way for this year to end! Our first exam should have been tomorrow, shouldn’t it!
I’d like to personally thank you for all your support and encouragement over the last nine months. You made me believe that i COULD do maths, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. (Well, ok, I wasn’t crazy about quadratic equations! 🙄). Pass or fail, I’ll never regret doing it.
Lydia (Foundation GCSE 2020)
Pass, fail lose or draw , whatever the outcome, it’s been a pleasure attending your lessons. The enthusiasm you show is a lesson in itself ! which, hopefully, we’ll all be able to draw on.
John (Foundation GCSE 2020)
You’ve been a wonderful teacher. You always explained everything in a great way, understanding that we all learn differently and providing lots of different techniques to learn and offering support to all! And you’re a lovely person on top of it all. Couldn’t wish for a better teacher!
Cyntia (Foundation GCSE 2020)
I would like to thank you for the teaching and support you have given me whilst I have been studying at college. I honestly don’t think I would have passed my exam without it!
Nicola (Foundation GCSE 2020)
Thank you for all your help over the last few months, I really enjoyed your teaching and thoroughly looked forward to my Tuesday mornings in class. Maybe I’ll see you at college again, if I decide to do another course ..... my husband is already asking if I can sit the higher paper?!
Stephanie (Foundation GCSE 2020)
I just wanted to say thank you. Obviously the year didn't quite pan out as I had expected but I did enjoy what time we did get to spend in the classroom. At school I found maths really difficult and therefore boring. You made it easier to understand and I actually enjoyed most of it! I have no idea what grade I am likely to get but fingers crossed I hopefully won't be seeing you in September to do it all again!! Many thanks for all your help.
Kerry (Foundation GCSE 2020)
Thank you so much Kat! I’m delighted, relieved, and there’ll be no living with me!
Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without you, and I’ll always be grateful.

Private lessons in Math, Physics, Chemistry and SVTThe math, physics, chemistry, and SVT courses of the Swiss maturity program and gymnasium or French programs are done by either in-depth explanations or by a quick course and summary of essential needs according to the case of each student supported by exercises from the book or evaluations and exams from other high schools.
Special program for Matura and Terminales.
As well as for (students in international and European Schools in English, they can have support in Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology).
For the start of the academic year in Switzerland, support courses for EPSU and ECUS exams.
For the first university year, support courses in Mathematics - Analysis - Matrices - Statistics - Algebra - Geometry - Physics - Mechanics - Electricity - Chemistry - Organic Chemistry - Biology, Geology.
My experience is too long and for years I have learned methods for each case and for each student to fill in their gaps with the best results of Excellent, Very Good, and Good as mentioned by my students.
I can also help students to better prepare for courses and support them to better prepare for the duties of CNED in science subjects.
Guaranteed response within minutes up to 10 hours maximum.

Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacherI am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years.
The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies.
I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics.
I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.
Reza
Tutor for Math, Physics, and Mechanical/Material Engineering coursesI hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and currently work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Aerospace Engineering Faculty at TU Delft (Delft University of Technology).
My extensive teaching experience covers a wide range of engineering courses, including:
- Mathematics: algebra, linear algebra, probability, calculus, differential equations, intellectual math, and advanced engineering mathematics.
- Mechanical Engineering: Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of materials, Mechanical design, control, vibration, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat transfer, Engineering drawing, Applied Mechanics, Composite Structures, Flight, Machine Elements, Manufacturing, 3D printing, and more.
- Physics: mechanics, momentum and energy, electricity, charge and current, electric and magnetic fields, waves, particle physics, nuclear decay, astrophysics, cosmology, oscillations, etc.
- CAD/CAM Software: Autocad, Solidworks.
- Mechanical Design Packages: ANSYS, APDL programming, ABAQUS, MATLAB, Symbolic MATLAB, LS-DYNA.
My research and teaching interests are diverse, including:
• Additive manufacturing
• Mechanical metamaterials
• Acoustical metamaterials
• Electromagnetic metamaterials
• Aeroacoustics
• Soft matter and soft robotics
• Fatigue and fracture mechanics
• Experimental mechanics
• Multiscale numerical modelling
• Biomaterials
• Porous materials
• Manufacturing of medical devices and implants
• Deep learning
• Image processing
• Topology optimization
• Origami and Kirigami structures
• Self-folding and self-assembly structures
• Tissue engineering
• Permeability in porous materials
• Fluid-Solid Interaction
I understand that not all teachers excel in teaching Engineering and Mathematics courses and explaining their importance to students. Courses with strong mathematical backgrounds may become boring for students who lack a solid mathematical basis. To address this, I take a student-centered approach, starting from the basics to actively engage all students, including those with weaker mathematical backgrounds. I also provide practical examples to demonstrate the real-world significance of what they are learning, inspiring and fostering their interest in the subject matter.
If you have any additional questions before starting a class, please feel free to ask me. I am here to assist! :)

Math tutoring for high school studentsAs a teaching professional, I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge. My goal is to provide quality education. I am aware that some topics may seem complex, but often this is simply the result of an inadequate explanation by the teacher. With me, you will discover a real interest in the material!
We strive together to achieve academic excellence, overcoming the shortcomings and difficulties encountered by your child. Studies will become a pleasant experience for him. In addition to the courses, I can also help with school orientation, identifying their preferences and highlighting the advantages and benefits of a fulfilling educational ambition.
The sessions generally take place according to the following stages:
1️⃣ The first sessions are devoted to the assessment of the student's level in order to detect existing gaps.
2️⃣ Next, we create a personalized plan to address these gaps, including the number of hours of work needed, specific areas to focus on, and appropriate training and development exercises.
3️⃣ We stay in constant contact with the student's class teacher, to keep up to date with the latest requirements and ensure a consistent approach.
4️⃣ Subsequently, I provide exams similar to those that are likely to be asked in class, to prepare the student effectively.
5️⃣ Upon request, I write a regular report, usually monthly, to keep parents informed of their child's progress throughout their course.

Math / Stat / Proba, Physics / Chemistry, and Bio, At Your Place, At My Place, or RemotelyA highly experienced Franco-Belgian teacher (ook in het nederlands!) offers private lessons in mathematics (including finance), probability and statistics, as well as physics, chemistry, and biology for secondary and higher education levels. For physics, chemistry, and biology, the instruction is tailored to the secondary level, specifically up to the 5th year of secondary education in Belgium.
Whether you prefer lessons at your place, my place, or remotely, I am flexible to accommodate your needs. If necessary, I can travel to your home in Brussels, Walloon and Flemish Brabant, with a minimum duration of 2 hours per session. The lessons are designed to provide extensive practice with numerous exercises. Distance learning options are also available through platforms such as Skype, Facebook, etc. Please note that for students in France, only distance learning courses are provided.
In mathematics, I specialize in various topics and frequently provide lessons covering the entire secondary school curriculum, including math 6 and higher. These topics encompass factorization, equations of the 1st and 2nd degree (with in-depth study of parabolas), limits, derivatives, integrals, exponentials and logarithms, as well as trigonometry. Additionally, I am occasionally called upon to teach analytical geometry in space, including equations of lines and planes.
For statistics and probabilities, I provide instruction in descriptive and inferential statistics (univariate and bivariate), covering confidence intervals and hypothesis tests, applicable to secondary and higher education levels.
Feel free to reach out to me to discuss and arrange the lessons based on your specific needs and availability. My aim is to help you enhance your skills effectively and provide personalized instruction. By tailoring the lessons to your requirements, we can ensure rapid progress in your studies.

Tutoring in physics and mathematics, primary to university levelDuring a regular school curriculum, the material to be assimilated can be considerable, so much so that many concepts are only understood superficially, just enough to pass an exam. In my opinion, it is essential to establish a solid foundation before building new knowledge. The course is therefore structured as follows:
- Review of relevant physical and mathematical concepts prior to the course.
- Course overview: We identify the key concepts, what is well understood and less well understood by the student, in which case misunderstandings are addressed.
- Practice: We put new concepts into practice through a series of exercises aimed at anchoring the learning.
- Summary: I like to conclude each session with a discussion where the roles are reversed: the student explains the concepts covered in their own words. It is often by trying to teach in turn that we highlight our misunderstandings — and really consolidate our knowledge! "If you cannot explain something simply, it is because you have not understood it well." - Albert Einstein - Written record: I give lessons via videoconference, with a tablet and stylus as a visual aid. Notes are taken on Notability and are shared at the end of the session.

A little math and test prepI'm a mathematics teacher currently studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Didactics. I enjoy doing mathematics and I love thinking and researching new methods so you can do mathematics too. Did you know that every piece of mathematical knowledge arose from a problem in society at the time? If they could understand it, you can too!
