PhD Scientist & Postdoctoral Researcher (KU Leuven) | Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics & Chemistry
From 36 £ /h
I offer personalized lessons in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, and other Life Sciences subjects. My teaching focuses on building a solid understanding of concepts rather than memorization, helping students develop the analytical skills needed to succeed in university and research.
I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven (Belgium) and currently work as a postdoctoral researcher, developing molecular diagnostics and biosensor technologies.
Lessons are available in English or Spanish and are tailored to your background and goals, whether you're a high school student, undergraduate, master's student, or early-career researcher.

About Me
I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven, where my research focused on molecular biology, synthetic biology, and nucleic acid technologies.
I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven, developing molecular diagnostics and biosensor technologies for infectious diseases. My research integrates molecular biology, protein engineering, nucleic acid engineering, enzymatic assays, assay development, and microfluidic technologies.
Before moving into academic research, I worked for four years in industrial biotechnology, first in quality control and later in research and development. I specialized in the development and validation of biological indicators for sterilization monitoring under ISO and GMP standards, contributing to the creation of four FDA-approved medical products.
Thanks to this combination of industrial, doctoral, and postdoctoral experience, I can help students connect theoretical concepts with real research and biotechnology applications. I can provide support with molecular biology, biotechnology, protein and nucleic acid engineering, experimental design, scientific writing, data analysis, Python for life sciences, thesis projects, and preparation for exams or research presentations.
My lessons are adapted to each student's level and goals. I aim not only to help solve an immediate problem, but also to develop scientific reasoning, confidence, and independence.

Education
I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven (Belgium), where I specialized in molecular biology, synthetic biology, nucleic acid technologies, bioinformatics, and computational biology. Prior to my PhD, I completed a predoctoral specialization in Pharmaceutical Sciences at KU Leuven with distinction. I also earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and a Licenciatura (Master's equivalent) in Biotechnology from the National University of Rosario, Argentina, graduating with honors.
Experience / Qualifications
I have over 10 years of experience spanning academic research and industrial biotechnology. Before joining KU Leuven, I spent four years in the biotechnology industry, working in quality control and research & development on the design and validation of FDA-approved medical products under ISO and GMP standards.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven, where I develop molecular diagnostics and biosensor technologies for infectious diseases. My expertise includes molecular biology, protein engineering, nucleic acid technologies, biotechnology, biochemistry, PCR and qPCR, bioinformatics, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), Python programming for life sciences, experimental design, and scientific writing. I enjoy helping students understand complex concepts, solve research problems, and bridge the gap between theory and real-world applications.
