In this science class (immunology), students will have an overview of their immune system’ superheroes (cells), where they are and the amazing actions they will take to protect us from pathogens.

Let's promote discussions and critical thinking activities (Q&A) so students will learn how the immune system cells team up to destroy a pathogen. We will go beyond that knowledge and learn what each of us can do to make sure our superheroes get the support they need (hello science of well-being!) The students will then review what they learned by role-playing: assuming the role of immune system cells and having the opportunity to teach each other what they can do to protect their team.

Hi! I am Paula. I am a scientist, especially curious about human cells and their troubled interaction with viruses.

As a teacher, I share my passion for immunology by showing students we all have superpowers! Our journey starts by looking into our immune system, extending that knowledge to learn scientific methods to discover the world around us. I am also very interested in learning "how to learn" and effective strategies to learn better.

I am a bachelor in Biomedicine with a master's in Science and Biotechnology. I am a certified ESL teacher and have been working at physical and online schools with 3 to 18-year-old students for +3 years.

It is well proven that we learn when we are relaxed and interacting with the material and others. This is why I bring interactive games so students will develop their critical thinking, also showing them they already have all the skills to become scientists! I can quickly adapt my class to their needs depending on how they interact.
