Do you understand a lot of Spanish but freeze the moment you have to speak? Or are you starting from zero and want to do it properly this time? That's exactly what these lessons are for.
I'm a native Spanish speaker and an experienced, qualified teacher. I've taught Spanish for years — at university level and one-to-one online — to learners from complete beginners (A1) to advanced (C1), with a background in education and Hispanic studies. In a sea of profiles, here's the difference: I know how people actually learn a language, and how to get you using it from the very first session.
My lessons are conversational and built around you. Depending on what you need, we can focus on:
· Speaking and fluency — feeling confident in real conversations
· Spanish for work, travel, or living in a Spanish-speaking country
· Exam preparation (DELE, SIELE) — honestly planned around your level and your date
· Spanish through culture and history — Spain and the wider Spanish-speaking world, through its stories, not just its grammar
That last line is what sets me apart. I'm also a trained historian, and for me a language is never only rules and vocabulary: it's a way into how people think and see the world. So the words come with the life behind them — where an expression comes from, why we say things the way we do, what's happening in Spain right now. You don't just learn to speak Spanish; you start to understand the world it opens.
If you want pure, mechanical exam-drilling and nothing else, I'm probably not your teacher. But if you want to speak with confidence and genuinely understand what you're saying, we'll get on well.
The best way to start is a first session (listed separately, at a reduced rate): a relaxed conversation where I get a sense of your level and we map a path — no pressure, whether or not we continue.

What I love most is the moment a student stops translating in their head and simply speaks — and I'm patient, calm, and a little stubborn about helping you get there. My classes are conversational and built around you: you do most of the talking, make most of the mistakes (the good kind), and slowly make the language your own.
I'm also a trained historian, and that shapes how I teach. For me a language is far more than grammar; it's a way into how people think, what they value, how they see the world — so culture and history come woven into the words, never as a dry add-on. The students I enjoy most are the curious ones: people who want not only to pass or perform, but to genuinely understand. This is a relaxed first session — a trial, not an exam. It's a conversation for us to get to know each other: I want to understand why you've come to Spanish, what you need it for, and how you learn, while you get a real taste of how I teach.
We'll talk — in Spanish as far as your level allows, with English as a safety net whenever you need it — and I'll get a natural sense of where you are, with no test of any kind. You'll also get a genuine sample of my method: we'll take something that actually matters to you and turn it into a small, real piece of learning, the way every regular class works.
Whether or not we decide to continue, you'll leave with two things: an honest picture of your starting point — what you already do well and what's worth focusing on — and a concrete first path, tailored to your goal rather than to some abstract syllabus.
There's no pressure to book anything. If it clicks, the natural next step is my regular Spanish classes; if it doesn't, you still walk away knowing exactly where you stand. Either way, it's a real piece of work, not a sales pitch.
