Before coming to my class, you have left the rest of your day behind. To come ready to have fun is the best guarantee to learn the most.
I consider building up the grammar for the student as an architecture project. I believe one has to construct the structure first and then place the content. That is why I am careful about what to teach, when. Besides I like focusing on the most difficult part which is translating from the original language to Spanish. In this way the student becomes independent much faster than with the traditional way.
The first part of the class is dedicated to grammar where the student does mental "push-ups" to integrate a specific grammatical point. In the second part we use this grammar in a practical and oral way, so they can feel the utility and usefulness of it. I like celebrating the start of a new level, so the student feels their efforts rewarded and his progress recognized.
