I am a graduate from Queen Mary University of London with a first class degree with honours in Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences.

Mathematics is an essential subject studied by all students from prep school to GCSE class. Having adequate Maths knowledge also helps students understand science subjects such as Physics and Chemistry. Studying Maths has always been fun for me since I love finding the most efficient way to solve problems. I understand that not all students feel this way and that is why I am here to teach students not only the fundamental methods to solve Maths problems but also how closely related Maths is to our real world.

In my lessons, I will use Key Stage, AQA, and GCE Maths books with sample papers to explain the content thoroughly to my students. I will also offer class notes written by myself specifically for my students to help them grasp the knowledge in a clear layout.

Having completed both my GCSE and A-level studies in the UK, I have firsthand experience of studying and taking these exams and hope to deliver my tips to my students. I am fluent in English although my native language is Mandarin Chinese. Finally, as an older sibling, I have experience assisting my sister the whole way through her GCSE exams. Mathematics is a subject that most students find difficult. Some already believes that they can never know it. This is an erroneous belief. A lot of students find the subject difficult as result of the kind 'teachers' they have been privileged to come across. These 'teachers use methodologies that are archaic and they refuse to grow on the job. This is why I decided to come into the teaching word, to make what seems extremely difficult, as easy as they really are. I have been doing this for the past thirteen years with a lot of successes to show for it. I always develop that professional relationships that makes students always feel relaxed at the mention of the subject. This is why most of my students still reach out to me even after graduation.

In my classes the students will be a part of an interactive session of solving time-sensitive short questions as a brainstorming exercise, proceeding with covering topics from the start of the syllabus, solving questions as we move on and understanding the difficult level that the student is easily able to pass. This will be followed by recognising the topics that the student is finding difficult and then explaining them through short lectures and diagrams, helping the student have a better grasp at the concepts. I will ensure constant feedback after each of my classes to understand the students problems and tailoring my lessons according to that. Moreover the students' progress will be monitored and tracked through short weekly assessments based on past paper questions allowing the student to be comfortable with the exam-style questions and avoid falling for the exam pressure.
