Hi, my name is teacher Pance and I want to introduce myself as an online English teacher. Three key points I want to stress about my teaching style. The first is to be patient. Being patient is one of the qualities of good language teachers. Yet, language teachers need to be more patient than any other subjects’ teachers. Why? Because developing the necessary skills to communicate in a different language than ours may seem for many students an unreachable goal due to their mistakes and difficulties. That is why the process of language learning takes time and requires both the teacher's and students’ efforts.
Next, I need to inspire a love of the language I teach, by showing my students that I love using it and enjoy helping others learn it.
Another quality of a good language teacher is being dynamic. Therefore, I am supposed to provide a variety of input to create more learning opportunities for my students, using different teaching materials such as videos, songs, plays, games, etc.

My methodology: Learning to structure one's thoughts to express oneself better
My approach is based on a simple observation: success is not achieved through lack of effort, but often through a lack of method and confidence. My role is to transform subjects sometimes perceived as abstract (Philosophy, French) or intimidating (English) into concrete tools for success.

The typical course of a session:
1. Quick diagnosis: We start by identifying the areas of uncertainty from the previous lesson or the difficulties with a specific exercise.
2. Taking action: No boring lectures! We work on concrete exercises, essay plans or oral practice (in English) to "learn by doing".
3. The "Montreal Method": Having worked for two and a half years in Quebec, I use a North American pedagogy that is very focused on encouragement, clear structure and student autonomy.
4. Summary & Objectives: We end each session with a recap of the key points so that the student knows exactly what to revise.
