Hello, I like to transmit and exchange with my students. Seeing them understand and progressing is essential and very rewarding for me. My lessons are based on an academic method focused on learning music theory and instrumental practice. I bring a specific method adapted to the profiles of my students (age, availability, tastes, motivation, "anti-music theory"). I try to make my students independent, help them develop their listening skills, their sense of rhythm and transmit to them an efficient working method. I give singing lessons and I teach: - the vocal technique - jazz improvisation - the jazz, lyric, variety, pop etc repertoire ... In my class, I rely on the vocal technique of the old Italian school. That is to say .... I do not push your voice to do anything else. I remove bad habits, I ban your involuntary effects that you do not control ... The goal is to make you discover your natural tone, thanks to my vocal technique acquired with Thalia Carouza, director of the school of the natural voice and professional lyric singer. Hello everyone ! Graduated from the Conservatories of Strasbourg (DEM jazz, and 3rd cycle in classical) and the Jazz Institute of Berlin (License and Master), active musician on the French and German stages, I also developed a solid educational experience, and taught in music school in parallel with private lessons for many years. After many years in the conservatory and a dozen to alternate between teaching and the stage, the gap between theory and practice has proved to be enormous. Two worlds that do not communicate with each other and boast an authenticity when only the purpose matters: to express itself via its instrument. Acquiring the technique and the experience but also the musical culture (and others ...) that will accompany us all our lives is an important issue. The work of the repertoire, the technique, the writing, the preparation for an examination or a concert, the history of his instrument ... These are all topics discussed during the course.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. My lessons are distinguished by their dynamics, practical approach and adaptation to the needs and interests of the student. The lessons (live or online) take place in my studio next to the Maastunnel, where I have a premium stage piano and a top-quality webcam setup. I speak Dutch at an intermediate level, which is improving every day.

The older I get, the more I love. Especially during these times of immense ugliness and hate, wars and conflict, music- that's always been all about love - is the home I keep returning to. To me, mentoring someone is all about sharing the love for the instrument, thirst about the material, desire to explore new musical paths and respect for whatever happens whilst playing. Not only we will explore technical paths and understand rhythm under a totally different light but also communicate through improvisation and modal principles. My goal is for you to love the instrument a bit more, music a bit more and as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said "Perhaps love is the process of my leading you gently back to yourself". Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.
