From 26.77 £ /h
I'm a native English speaker and a Cambridge philosophy graduate with a good deal of experience teaching English to students of all ages and nationalities. I'm a friendly and easy-going person, and I aim to create an open and unintimidating atmosphere in which to learn with my students. I am currently working at UNESCO in Paris.
I am able to teach spoken and written English, grammar, pronunciation, literature, and reading skills to all ages. I cater my lessons according to my students' needs; a lesson of advanced English could consist of high-level literature analysis and discussion, while I am also able to keep young students engaged with fun language-games and a good deal of enthusiasm.
I am also available to teach critical thinking, philosophy, and to help with university applications or proofreading.
I have worked for 3 well-regarded summer schools, and have taught English privately for a number of years.
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to know a bit more about me!

Experience / Qualifications
I have taught English in both classroom settings and in 1-on-1s, to students ranging from 8 to 18 years old. I have had the pleasure of working for several highly regarded summer schools for students learning English as a foreign language.
As a teacher for the Cambridge-based Seminar for Advanced English Studies (SAES), I taught English and philosophy to German students aged 16 and over in preparation for their national exams. In lessons I covered poetry and textual analysis, as well as grammar and vocabulary classes. While at SAES, I taught dozens of students privately over a period of 2 months, and learned how to engage and capture the interests of particular students with different personalities.
Working for Bell Beyond in 2016, I taught English to Italian children aged 8-9 in a fully immersive (English only) environment. Working with the children, I learned to improvise, to be positive and supporting, and to be approachable and friendly. It was also necessary to communicate very slowly and clearly, and to find ways of teaching through games and other fun activities.
As a mentor for Cambridge Immerse in 2016, I organised and ran philosophy seminars and mock-interviews for potential applicants to Cambridge university. I held one-on-one sessions as well as group discussions with hopeful applicants.
