Learning a new language has countless advantages. It allows you to keep your brain well-trained, to interact with people from all over the world, to have direct access to the culture of another country and, among other things, to find more exciting opportunities to build a carrer.

My goal is to guide students in their language learning, giving them not only exercises but also advice to master the language quickly, making them feel comfortable in a friendly environment where everyone shares knowledges and learns from their own mistakes.

The lessons are normally given in English, but these can be given also in Dutch for beginners (A1-A2 level). I will provide some personal material, but other options are possible as well (e. g. use of the student grammar book). Since most of the material is given in digital format, make sure to bring a pen drive to the lesson. Besides that, a notebook and a pen are enough.

About Me

I am a young teacher with a big passion for languages. I have been studying foreign languages since I went to school. Specifically, I have studied English and German for longer than Spanish but I wrote my two dissertations in this latter language. I like translating texts and putting subtitles to random videos on Internet. I also like creating new material to learn languages in an easy and funny way. Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster.

Learning is easy, but unlearning bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible.

METHODOLOGY
Learn dance and let talk about your body / emotions, make the difference in the evening ("social dancing") or prepare an event (wedding for example): Focused on pedagogy, technique and pleasure, the dance space offers personalized and individualized courses of Salsa (porto on 1, Cuban), Bachata, Merengue, Kuduru-African dance, Zouk Antillais, Zouk Brazilian (pop music) (...) according to your desires.

Objective: to adapt to your request and your desire. In the eyes of many neophytes, a couple who dance well performs spectacular figures. To dance is to tell / live together a story, to produce beauty in movement and to make the steps, the attitudes and the connections between the various actions aesthetic / harmonious. This fluidity is born of emotion, felt and transmitted.

Simplicity, communication, listening, sharing, emotion, valorization of the other: it is, in addition to technical knowledge (body expression, rhythmic, visual), what you will improve during this training at evolutive levels. In a friendly atmosphere, you will be taken in hand whatever your initial level. Objective: a combination between on the one hand, intuition / feeling / improvisation and on the other hand, technique. It is possible to take the course in couple or solo.

According to your desire, it is possible to propose 70% of a 1st dance, 30% of another complementary dance, the bases of the one influencing the other.

Whether you are preparing a "choreography" for a special event (wedding, birthday, work, etc.), a show or simply looking to improve your skills to impress on the dance floor, the final learning of these courses consists in :

* perform a beautiful interpretation of the music with appropriate movements, in addition to performing a dynamic work that involves a footwork and body movements adapted

* execute an appropriate technique that will allow you to shine quickly on the dance floor, relying on the strong point of private lessons

* Set up style, movement, footwork, and adjusted body coordination, allowing for rapid dance progression, while taking advanced base steps and a variety of movements, allowing you to not only acquire a sensual style but also to improve his own improvisational abilities, focusing on the characteristics of modern dance.

* work on your balance, your musicality, your body strength (...), while having fun, while you train and radically improve the coordination of your body.

In summary, these courses are at the beginner level (basic steps with some general variations), intermediate (faster speed and more concentration on technique, body mechanics, control, footwork, posture, balance and more complex movements) or advanced (for slightly more experienced dancers).
