Associate professor, Doctor of Letters (Paris IV Sorbonne), teaches Latin at all levels.

This course is aimed at anyone wishing to learn or relearn the Latin language, progressively access literature, history, philosophy, ancient sciences, and approach Latin culture. It is also intended for any pupil or student wishing for support in this subject.
Learning the Latin language presupposes a few solid bases of French grammar that we review of course if necessary, before installing Latin grammatical knowledge.
Learning Latin develops the rigor and sense of translation.

I offer you a new learning experience.

To the uninitiated, a grammar book seems to be written in another language because the meaning of the words is incomprehensible. In a down-to-earth way, I'll translate the grammar into familiar words. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning while having a positive mindset.

You can book a complete course with regular sessions or individual lessons to overcome a specific problem, such as pronunciation or a particular point in grammar.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster.

Learning is easy, but unlearning bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible.

My offer is aimed at both teenagers and adults who want to acquire a solid foundation of the Latin language without the time-consuming diversions of absurd school methods.

I offer individual or group lessons for Latin. The methods are based on cognitive science and, in particular, comparative linguistics. My flexible programme can be tailored to your individual needs.

What is particularly important to me:

motivating my students and help them establish a learning rhythm;
encouraging their creativity;
helping them become more familiar with the language;
teaching them the letters and their sounds;
strengthening their memory by training their phonological loop;
teaching sentence building plans instead of memorising sentences;
explaining how language works so that my students can become independent as quickly as possible.

I look forward to meeting you.

Latin Tutoring — Specializing in Ecclesiastical Latin

Would you like to learn Latin in a way that helps you read and understand Latin texts?

I offer personalized Latin lessons for beginners and continuing students, with a particular focus on Ecclesiastical Latin and the Latin of the Christian tradition.

Whether you are starting Latin from scratch, working through a particular textbook, studying Latin for personal enrichment, or hoping to read Scripture, prayers, liturgical texts, and other works of the Christian tradition in the original Latin, lessons can be adapted to your level and goals.

What we can work on:

* Latin grammar and syntax, explained clearly and systematically
* Vocabulary and word formation
* Translation and reading comprehension
* Ecclesiastical Latin pronunciation and reading aloud
* Parsing and understanding individual words and sentences
* Reading the Latin of the Vulgate
* Liturgical and devotional Latin
* Reading authentic Latin texts
* Developing confidence and fluency in reading Latin

I place particular emphasis on understanding how Latin sentences are constructed. We will work carefully with cases, conjugations, vocabulary, syntax, and the relationships between words, helping you develop a strong foundation for reading and translating Latin independently.

My primary interest and specialization is Ecclesiastical Latin, including its traditional pronunciation and the rich tradition of Latin Christian texts. I can also assist students studying Classical Latin, depending on their needs and level.

Lessons are relaxed, patient, and tailored to the individual student. No previous knowledge of Latin is required.

If you have a particular book, text, or course you are currently studying, you are very welcome to bring it to the lesson.

I studied Latin myself for seven and a half years in school, so I'm very familiar with the most common difficulties: declensions, conjugations, sentence structure, and translating complex texts. Thanks to my extensive experience as a language teacher (German, French), I use structured and patient teaching methods that make even a language considered "dead," like Latin, accessible and understandable.

My Latin classes are especially suitable for:

Students who need help with homework, grammar, or text translation.
Exam and test preparation
For those who want to refresh their knowledge of Latin.

I work in a structured way, I break down the grammar into clear steps and adapt the pace to your level.

Prüfungsvorbereitung für Schularbeiten and Klassenarbeiten
Wiedereinsteiger, die ihre Lateinkenntnisse auffrischen möchten

Ich arbeite strukturiert, erkläre Grammatik in clear, nachvollziehbaren Schritten and passe das Tempo an dein individuelles Niveau an.

Hello! My name is Alexandros, and I’m a professional, passionate, and experienced teacher of Ancient Greek, specializing in Ancient Greek Literature. I’ve been teaching for years, and I strive to make learning a meaningful, personal, and enjoyable experience.
What makes my lessons truly special is the bridge I build between language and culture. While I teach all levels of Ancient Greek, I offer three specialized tracks that I am particularly passionate about:
• Homeric Greek: Dive into the world of the heroes of the Iliad and Odyssey.
• Platonic Greek: Explore the elegance of Attic prose and the philosophical depth of Socrates.
• Koine Greek: Read the New Testament and Hellenistic texts in their original historical context.

Latin and Greek are beautiful but difficult languages to learn. Many students lose heart and motivation after a few bad grades. Together, we will look at where your stumbling blocks lie, and from there, I will help you move forward. I align as much as possible with your schoolwork. I also provide you with tools and strategies to learn (vocabulary) and translate better. This way, you strengthen the foundation, your results improve, and you go to class with more enjoyment and self-confidence again.
I also provide Latin and Greek exam training, including interim training for school exams.

I offer individual Latin lessons for secondary school and Gymnasium students as well as adults who are preparing for a Latin examination.
