I'm a guitar teacher experienced in teaching kids, although I'm can teach adults and intermediates/advanced, whether that's acoustic or electric guitar, nylon or steel strings.
I'm currently specializing in Brazilian guitar at Codarts Conservatory, although I'm experienced with Blues, Rock, Funk, Percussive Fingerstyle and can also introduce you to Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Flamenco or Classical. and beyond.
I believe I can be quite effective in helping you upgrade your current guitar level, as I can very rapidly identify what's holding you back and how to overcome it pragmatically , which will build up your motivation, the primary aspect in facilitating progress.
I focus on covering the basics of the right hand and left hand separately at first, and with helping you develop proper technique from the get-go, which will make everything easier in the long run. Once the foundations have been laid down, I focus on a more individualized approach according to your specific needs and taste.

About Me

With a cheerful, positive energy, I'm genuine, spontaneous, with a personable character and strong social skills, and I can find a balanced structure between work and play, even more so in music, since they are most often synonyms, luckily.
I have plenty of experience working with children and teenagers, and feel lucky to have a natural predisposition to deal with them.
With 13 years of experience in playing and teaching guitar, I am versatile across genres, and although I'm currently going deep into the Brazilian guitar in my formal studies at Codarts Conservatorium, I took interest in playing many different guitar styles throughout the years, from Blues, Rock, Funk or Jazz to Percussive Fingerstyle, Celtic, Folk, Classical, and much more. Whether it's steel strings, nylon strings, acoustic or electric, if there's a guitar involved, I'm curious.

Education

I studied muisc theory with a private teacher in Lisbon for a few years, and at the moment I'm studying at the Conservatory of Rotterdam, Codarts.
I'm a third year student at the Latin Department, which focus heavily on Brazilian and Cuban guitar.

Experience / Qualifications

I started teaching roughly 13 years ago, mostly young kids at that time. Eventually went on to teach teenagers and adults, and I'm happy with any age group, since each one has its own positives and its own challenges.

I'm a passionate guitar and music teacher with a 10 year experience in music teaching for any ages and levels.
I focused in my last years on experimenting a new flexible and adjustable method that works very well with children, in order to develop the music skills, the creativity and spontaneity, with a lots of gamified music activities.

More than 25 years of experience as a professional musician and more than 20 as a teacher and pedagogue have taught me that, alongside a technical and knowledgeable musical upbringing, my teaching can instil in the student a wide sense of musical appreciation. ABOUT ME

Hi! I am a 25 years old Greek Guitarist/Musician that just graduated from the Music Conservatory of Amsterdam and now doing my Masters in Codarts in Rotterdam.

Guitar/ Teaching is my biggest passion and i would love to share it with anyone who is interested in Learning and help them pursue their passion, goals and aspirations. In the lessons, i adapt my knowledge to the students needs in order to help them in the best way i can since everyones musical needs need and personality are different and require a different teaching approach .

TOPICS & DESCRIPTION:

Repertoire - Learning tunes/songs of your own interest and in any musical style.

Hearing - Indentifying scales, chords, intervals, chord progressions and melodies by ear and being able to play them on the instrument.

Theory/Harmony - This field is essential for anyone who wants to audition for a music university programme and needs basic music theory knowledge, or someone who wants to be more knowledgeable in music theory and analysis. I teach basic theory, Jazz theory/analysis, Pop Theory, and music analysis in scores.

Composition - Learning techniques and ways of composing in any style of music.

Technique - Soloing techniques (Alternate picking, legato, finger tapping, sweep picking, economy picking, Bending/Vibrato and expression) Scales/Arpeggios/ Modes, fingerstyle, right hand technique (For acoustic guitar) Rhythm Strumming techniques (for acoustic guitar)

Improvisation: Being able to play musically and with spontaneity over different harmonic progressions and tunes. I am also specified in pop/rock and jazz improvisation.

Guitar is great instrument for anyone who wants to be able to play music without spending years learning the craft.

I can help beginners reach a level fast in which they can enjoy playing the music they like. I can also help intermediate level players develop their technique, musicality and move towards acquiring a unique taste.

The internet is full of videos and tutorials about songs, chords, scales, licks and even music theory. But if you're tired of playing that song, or that lick, without being able to change it, then this class is for you. Before I entered the conservatory, I could never really understand what I was playing. And that was preventing me from expressing my musicality. By this I mean, I wasn't able to change a chord, or do a variation on a melody, or even creating an Intro. And this requires not so hard skills that can easily be developed just by thinking in music by its harmonical context. In my lessons I'll garantee you learn all this skills and you start making music since the very first day.

Hello! My name is George and I'm a fourth year student in jazz guitar at the Codarts conservatory here in Rotterdam, though my guitar journey began at the age of nine. I have been teaching a variety of students of different ages and backgrounds for the passed two years.

My aim as a teacher is not to overwhelm students with theory and sight-reading. Instead, I prefer to teach you practical ways to develop your own musical interests. If you are beginner struggling to achieve clear,clean notes or play a full song in tempo I can show you the most effective way to achieve rapid results. If you are passed the beginner stage I can help you with my specialised knowledge in jazz, pop, blues and rock.
