For over 30 years I have been passionately teaching individual and group lessons to people of all levels. I am Gianni, a born and raised Florentine who has been living in Delft for quite some time. Florence, the birthplace of the Italian language, is also the city of Dante Alighieri, the founder of modern Italian. No, we are not related 😉, but just as Haarlem in the Netherlands is known for its ABN pronunciation, Florentine Italian is considered the standard language. I proudly convey this authentic Italian in my lessons. Professional experience I am currently a teacher of Italian at the Volksuniversiteit Delft, after having previously taught for four years at the Volksuniversiteit Rotterdam. In addition to my work as a teacher, I am also a professional singer of traditional Italian folk songs. I like to integrate this passion into my lessons, because music is a powerful tool for learning a language. Well-known lyrics and melodies not only make the learning process more fun, but also more effective. I often accompany my singing with guitar, which creates an authentic Italian atmosphere. Teaching method For beginners, I use an accessible textbook that explains the basics of Italian step by step. During the lessons, I immediately correct mistakes in sentences or pronunciation, so that you gain more confidence in speaking. My approach is practical and interactive: every mistake is an opportunity to learn something new, whether it is a word, a grammatical rule, an anecdote or a cultural context. In addition, we pay attention to Tuscan cuisine and culture, so that you not only learn the language, but also experience the rich Italian lifestyle. Trusted teacher: Hello! My name is Sara and I have tutored a lot of students in my past, starting from when I was even just in high school! I believe I am a good teacher of math but am also exceptional at CV checks or helping with motivational essays and essay writing in general so would be happy to help in that area aswell. For my bachelors I pursued an aerospace engineering degree and am currently pursuing a masters in Cognitive Robotics. I am passionate about both learning and teaching because I have always believed education is the strongest tool. I am not somebody who understands things immediately so when I myself was learning in younger classes and in school, I always had a lot of questions and patiently worked through them. I think this kind of mentality is important when tutoring or mentoring somebody as opposed to criticizing mistakes. In my opinion, the more questions you ask, the better you understand! My teaching method usually includes introducing new theories and topics during our live sessions together and then assigning a few exercises or some homework for you to work on after the class on your own. In the next class, we will then go through your homework and clarify any questions you have. Again the aim is not that I am expecting a 100% on the homework (this could also be what your school gives you every week), but it's so we can work together on what you get stuck on!

Trusted teacher: I'm a native English speaker from the USA, living in Rotterdam. In my job as an engineer, I regularly help colleagues with their written and spoken English. I'm available to help you practice English on a regular basis on weeknights. I mainly work with students and professionals in technical fields who are interested in refining their English writing and speaking skills. I also speak fluent Dutch, as well as some Spanish and French, so I'm familiar with common English mistakes and understand what's causing them. Examples of lessons: - Reviewing written documents together, and identifying recurring errors (work emails, proposals, reports, etc.). - General conversation practice, and presentation practice. I will listen, take notes, and provide feedback on pronunciation and grammar, while we discuss various topics. - Practice speaking exercises in preparation for IELTS exams. - Assistance with job applications (reviewing English CVs and cover letters). I do not teach beginners courses in English, as I have a full-time job and this would require longer/more frequent lessons, and I do not have the training/background required to teach basic English. If you're interested, I'd love to hear a bit more about what you'd like to learn, so I can tailor the lessons to your needs: - What is your previous experience with English? - Why are you improving your English? - Do you have any specific goals?
