About Me

Gaia was born in Pescara, Italy. She is graduated in classical piano. she studied Ethnomusicology at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome. Later moved to Paris, a city in which deepens the study of singing (at the Conservatoire International de Paris) and accordion.
Ethnic music enthusiast, she devoted herself to the study of the music and instruments from several areas of the Mediterranean including the Calabrian lira and the Cretan lyre. Through frequent tours and trips around the world, it explores the music of various traditions including the Gypsy music of Eastern Europe, traditional southern Italy, and Colombian and South American music. In her rich curriculum a long list of art masterclasses and workshops around the world, music, but also in the theatre sector: to name just one, he attended the Academie Europeenne du Theatre Corporel "Studio Magenia" in Paris, in MIME. As a film actress, she participated in the 2001 movie directed by Riccardo Milani "La Guerra degli Anto," as Zarina.

She is the founder, leader and main composer of TALUNA ( 2011-2016) and in the last 4 years, they toured USA, Mexico , Canada, and Central America participating also at Womex night in SXSW Festival in Austin (USA) and New York Gypsy Festival.
In her new album DISAD'TTATA finished in November 2017 she collaborated with international artists and mixed her songs and compositions with music and sounds from Southern Italy, India, Mexico, and Israel. The album was recorded in many places, from houses and courtyards to professionals recording studios.
And with her new project - GAIA and band- she already toured in 2018 in Italy, Turkey, Palestine, and India.

My name is Matteo Schifanoia, I am a songwriter, pop and jazz singer, and vocal coach with 20 years of experience in music. I offer singing lessons for all levels. My lessons focus on developing body, muscle, and vocal awareness, which helps us perceive and consider our bodies as musical instruments.
My teaching method is the result of the synthesis of my experience as a singer and the many and diverse study paths followed. The lesson is structured in two parts: the first half devoted to vocal technique, the second half to the musical repertoire and learning the musical language (jazz or pop or other genre).

The vocal technique that I propose is a basic technique for all types of modern singing: from postural education to the care of breathing, from the use of abdominal muscles, to the emission of air to the resonance cavities. Hi, I'm an active opera singer and I offer one-to-one online singing lessons to students of all ages and abilities. I have a Master of fine arts (Department of Vocal and Acting Studies) from Lodz Musical Accademy in Poland and I've performed professionally as an opera singer in Baltic Opera. In 2020 I got a special scholarship from prestigious Accademia D'Arte Lirica in Italy. Apart from opera experience, I was a leader of the alternative rock band for many years.
