I am a very experienced teacher in Dutch as a second language. I love working with people from other countries because it widens my view and apart from teaching you a new language, I will learn from you about new cultures. For me, learning a new language is first of all learning to get around in daily life. So, a beginners course will always start with this basic information: introducing yourself; making appointments with the dentist, hairdresser, and so on; shopping; going to a restaurant; etc.
On an intermediate level, we will work on your speaking skills: having a conversation with your colleagues about your weekend, reading a newspaper article and talk about it; talking about your hobbies, etc.
With advanced students we can work on whatever field they need; for example work or other things that are important for you.

About Me

After my studies in French language and culture and my 1st degree teaching certificate, I started working in adult education almost immediately. I love working with people who are really motivated to learn the language or increase their knowledge. I use various teaching methods and teaching materials. Nothing is more fun than choosing exactly the teaching material that suits a particular student.

French is of course a beautiful, lilting language. Who doesn't want to learn it? I'd be happy to help you with that. In our minds we are already going on a trip to France and practice the situations you will encounter there. Depending on your goals and your level, we can go in all directions. Do you finally want to be able to have a conversation with the locals during the holidays? Then we work on that.
Do you have a house in France and you want to be able to talk to all handymen, then we will get to work.
And if you do a lot of business with French-speaking countries, we will choose a business French method and practice with the situations in which you need the language.
In short, we can go in all directions!
Because French is such a lilting language and the pronunciation is sometimes difficult, I like to work with chansons. By singing along you learn the pronunciation naturally and the lyrics of the songs can be the basis for a grammatical topic or a social topic to talk about. I teach singer-songwriter lessons in Utrecht. Ages 10 and up.
You don't have to be able to do anything yet.
You don't have to be able to play an instrument yourself.
During the lessons we work on writing lyrics, vocal technique and performance.
