My name is Douglas, and I'm a patient and very friendly young man. I have been tutoring mathematics for 9 years, since I was studying in high-school in England myself.

I have tutored a diverse spectrum of people, from young kids, to middle-aged students with experience working with people of varying competencies, from children with learning difficulties up to university level mathematics.

I have a 1st Class Hons. degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Quantitative Financial Economics, for which I was awarded a Scholarship and graduated from with a Distinction. I thoroughly enjoy working with young people and teaching really is something I genuinely love.

About Me

I am by nature a very relaxed and laid-back individual. My patience and calmness are some of my greatest assets as a private tutor, whilst my ability to very clearly articulate and explain technical concepts are some others.

I feel very confident in my ability to teach. My methods are simple and clear. I articulate slowly, and carefully without taking for granted or assuming any prior knowledge to a concept. I explain in an exhaustive manner, to ensure I'm not skipping over any gaps in the students knowledge. I do this very patiently whilst repeating myself and explaining myself by other means, so the student can slowly put together the necessary elements to understand the problem.

Education

1st Class Honours degree in Mathematics, with an Award of Academic Excellence.
Distinction grade in MSc Quantitative Financial Economics, for which I was granted a scholarship.

With the obtaining of a BAC Economics and Social with option maths specialty - Mention Bien. I graduated from an M2 in European law. I had a scientific training in school before switching to law. I own BAFA so I am used to working with children. I have been doing school support for 5 years in all subjects until the 3rd. I teach scientific (math, physics, science ...) and literary (history, French, etc.) subjects. I assume that you have to teach a work methodology to be successful in school. The organization, course understanding and review methodology are what I work on with my students.
