I offer creative writing classes that encourage and harness your interest and talent for the written word. As an award-winning, published playwright and poet, I bring my skills and experience to every class as I demystify approaches and offer supportive and practical lessons. With years experience as a teacher and facilitator with both children and adults, I tailor my lessons to fit your needs and aims.

This class can help you work towards English/Creative Writing qualifications at many different levels or simply to develop and explore your interest and talent in writing. Be it poetry, novels, screenwriting or playwriting, this lesson will take your writing to the next level.

English Literature is an extremely important and, for many students, compulsory part of education. This class is about improving the skills needed for close, thematic reading of both old and more contemporary texts. Using overarching themes found across literature, as well as giving suggestions for other relevant texts, this class aims not only to help pass any exams, but to also enrich your understanding and appreciation of the subject.

Outside of exams, especially for any adults, this class can be a more freeform discussion of novels or poetry for anyone who wants to enjoy literature on a deeper level but isn't quite sure where to start or what avenues of thought to explore.

I have been teaching Italian for more than 30 years. I started in Milan, I then went to San Francisco and now here in London. My first lesson with you would be to assess your level and start speaking Italian by writing in the chat if we are on Skype or on your notebook if we meet face to face. I use also paintings to explore vocabulary and if you live here in London, we would meet at the National Gallery for example and explore the Italian language through what we see in the painting.

I am an experienced tutor with 3+ years of experience teaching English Literature and Language to a GCSE, A level and university level. I graduated with a degree in English Literature and Language from the University of Oxford in 2022.

My specialisms are in feminist literature, Shakespeare poetry, 20th century theatre and literature, though I generally cater for all texts classically covered on GCSE and A Level syllabuses.

I can aid students from preschool to IGCSE/GCSE level in English, Verbal Reasoning, and essay writing. Having achieved an A* in both English Language and English literature, I am passionate about teaching children how to love the subject and excel in their examinations. I have tutored English in the past to both preschool and IGCSE pupils, offering a dynamic and interactive teaching style that helps nurture a child's love for English and creative writing. I have access to the poetry pamphlet taught in most schools for IGCSE, but can access whatever syllabus is needed for a specific exam. I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing.

I have a special passion for creative writing, which I specifically studied in my joint honours degree (BA English with Creative Writing), and specialise in producing stories, written poetry, and spoken word poetry which I have previously performed at events. I have run creative writing workshops for children at previous educational centres and love to make writing enjoyable, engaging and exciting for all of my students at all levels.

I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride am an attentive listener and I carefully plan my lessons according to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN, ESOL, and younger pupils. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths.

Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they want to excel at, and helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs.

I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student.

I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London.
