I'm a Spanish student currently studying a Quantum Information MSc at ETH Zürich. Physics is my passion and I love to teach it, always in a way that the student can understand the concepts and see the beauty behind them. I have taught an uncountable number of students of all kind of levels, from school children that need help with the course to adult people seeking to pass a physics exam for a pilot license or university students.
In my 6 years of experience on teaching, what I have learnt is that usually most students just need a bit of motivation, and the best way to give them that motivation is showing them that physics and mathematics are beautiful and fun!

I have a Surface Pro tablet that I normally use for aid during the class. It's very useful to show the students animations, videos and figures in order to transmit a better explanation of the concepts. I can also use it for giving classes through online videocall, sharing my screen and writing in it as it were a blackboard.

I'm native Spanish so I can teach Spanish as well.

I'm used to it and I've been tutoring for several years. I like it a lot - I also want to be a teacher and researcher, be patient, even if I expect a lot from the student. Tristan is a Master student in the department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich, where he is specialized in artificial intelligence and data analysis. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Systems at EPFL in Lausanne.

Tristan has experience in tutoring as he was a teaching assistant in undergraduate Math and Digital System Design courses at EPFL. He provided lessons to help students understand lectures, complete exercises and lab work. As a tutor, Tristan tailors his lessons to each student and provides methodologies to efficiently learn and work for examinations. Hi! I'm Carlota, I am 23 and I am from Spain. I have recently graduated from college with a bachelor degree in Translation and Interpreting (English, German, Spanish and Catalan). I have some experience as a school support teacher since I taught Spanish and English lessons to primary and secondary school children. My schedule, for now, is flexible and would be able to start anytime soon. I go through Spanish through cultural topics, gastronomy, music, geography, and politics. After learning English as a second language, I know how important is to approach a language you ́ll like to embrace into your life, from different perspectives.

We can read and follow a book, or practice general practical conversation.

Is Harry Potter invisibility cloak possible to produce in real life? How are the waves created? Is it possible to “build” a sun? If you want to learn how to answer these questions (and many more) join this course!

This course can be an opportunity for small kids (<= 12 yr. old) to stimulate their curiosity as well as to answer their many whys. For teenagers, this can serve as a complement to the high school classes and offer a fresh perspective on what the future would be.

I graduated in Physics at ETH Zurich in 2021 and I did my bachelor in Italy. Previously I was a tutor for high school kids in physics and mathematics.

I am a passionate teacher and I care for all my students. Learning mathematics is an emotional exercise. I always considered that being a good teacher is not only a mix of professional knowledge and skills, but also an ability to empathise and build relationships with the students. I do believe that the emotional and the affective dimensions of teaching are fundamental to being an effective teacher. When asked to complete the sentence “A good teacher should...”, a French pupil responded “listen to us, support us, teach us”.

In all my teaching experience, whether at sixth grade or at college and graduate levels, I have found that instead of getting frustrated with my students’ knowledge gaps and misconceptions, I could make my teaching more satisfying and more effective, by recognizing that all the students have learning potential and intellectual curiosity and by encouraging them to get a deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts.

The fluid nature of the Internet creates a learning environment that could be highly motivating for students raised within the digital era. I believe that, since the real purpose of education is to prepare and equip students for what happens beyond the classroom, the online collaborative learning communities can be also very efficient.
