Berklee Graduate offers private lessons of Composition, Orchestration, Arranging, Ear Training, Harmony & Counterpoint in Utrecht
The way I teach actually depends entirely on the student. The way I explain the concepts, plan and structure the lessons and approach each subject all depends on whether the student is a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and whether he or she has some experience on the subject. Each student has different needs and different abilities. It's just a matter of getting to know the student, in order to identify both the weaknesses and strengths on which to work.

Personalised Music Creation Workshops From Multi-Instrumentalist Singer and Improviser
Do you wish to learn writing music from scratch or improve your composition skills without a necessity of music theory knowledge? I'm a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter and performer and I offer applied workshops on writing and/or arranging pieces of music using various instruments of your choice, including your computer. I use a 'learning by creating' method, where we focus and go deeper on certain aspects depending on your needs on your music creation process. I like to use personalised methods that matches your desires, rather than following a certain curriculum. The goal is to help you gain or improve awareness on how a piece of music is written and learn various ways to begin and finalise a writing process. During our practices, I will naturally be transferring my knowledge on certain aspects such as: - Rhythm - Form - Dynamics - Texture - Melody making - Singing - Placing words into music/making music around words - Improvisation as a compositional tool - Integration of Ableton Live into creative process During the sessions, we'll either write together from scratch or work on your own material and tackle the issues of constructing a piece of music. Please contact me if interested, then we will have a first video call where we get to meet each other and discuss where you stand and your wishes. This way I can create a personalised program that suits your level and speaks to your area of interest.

Learn Piano and Improvisation and practice other languages :)
The most important matter that I could write here about is my passion to teach. I've been teaching already for more than 10 years, from kids to adults. I'm a classical pianist, but I am opened to other musical styles. What I want you to get from your lessons with me, is not only a huge knowledge of theorical stuff or a great technique, I would like to show you my musical world, the imagination and inner exploration that is required to understand and to love music in a whole new level. Once you have found them, it will be very hard to quit playing! The class duration: You can choose! 20 minutes (Great for the youngest : 3 years old) 30 minutes (Ideal for young beginners from 4 years old) 45 minutes (Intermediate+ adult beginners) 1 hour (Intermediate and combined with some Music Theory) I use different methods depending on: 1) The goals of my student 2) The language that we will use on class 3) Age and musical preferences: I start to teach children from 3 years old, we make games and they learn to play through musical stories that I have created throughout my pedagogical career.
PRIVATE Music Lessons: electric bass, improvisation, composition, music theory.
The class I propose as a private teacher cover the following subjects: -Bass Guitar: we will cover elements such as technique (from basic to advanced), groove, timing, soloing, creating catchy basslines in different genres (Jazz, Pop, Rock, Funk, World Music, etc..) -Improvisation: idiomatic (related to music-genre) and non-idiomatic -Composition and Music theory: study of harmony, scales, melody, creative musical-writing. All these subjects are interconnected in the lesson! N.B. IMPROVISATION, COMPOSITION AND MUSIC THEORY ARE OPEN TO ALL INSTRUMENTALISTS!! The first lesson with a new student is always an opportunity for the student to express what he likes about music. During the first lesson I usually propose my favorite music to the new student, and the the student does the same. The first lesson is the first approach in knowing each other, so that I can tailor a study programme that fits perfectly my student. By developing the just-mentioned study programme I guarantee that practice is linked to pleasure, cuoriosity and discover! Regular practice is also ensured by giving the student exciting and challenging assignments, that at the same time are doable. In this way I guarantee both satisfaction and challenge.

Acoustic and electroacoustic music composition, production, film scoring, arrangement, instrumentation, analisys and theory.
A composition class that is tailored to your musical needs! This class main purpose is to help you find your own musical language and voice. Either you are a complete beginner in music or a highly skilled musician, this class is perfect for you, because it is being adjusted for you, by you. The most important question that you will be asked in this class is ''Why?''. In this class you will learn to have the biggest level of control that you can have over your musical product, sound and decisions, so that you are always sure that your musical vision is being well translated and transmitted. In this class we are going to work with: 1) Compositional techniques --- Every lesson we are going to discuss about how do you think your piece should be, and about what does your piece need. For that you will need your intuition but also your ''tools'', and those are your compositional techniques. We are going to see them in other pieces and learn how to use them through your own musical vision. 2) Instrumentation --- To write acoutic music you need your ''arsenal'' and those are the instruments that you might use. In this class we will learn the categories, material, sound, structure and combinations of every instrument. We will learn together how each instrument works and how to notate it on paper, so that you are never limited by the nature of the instrument, but instead you are going to be able to bring out 100% of your music. 3) Arranging --- To make sure that you keep your instrumentation skills, we need to put them to use, not only in your music, but also in an arrangement. Together we are going to work on changing the instrumentation in piece and making arrangements of them so that you have a better nderstanding on how the instrumentation of a piece affects directly the compositional proscess and purpose of a piece of music, but also what are the differences between the sound of each instrument while combining them. Also, this will help you make decisions about the result of the arrangement, do you want it to be true to the original, or not? If not, why, and how do you do that? 4) Music History --- Together we will listen to music and learn some basic music history so that you have a better understanding of the different styles, structures and aspects of music, from the Byzantium and Middle ages music, all the way to the music of today. 5) Improvisation --- If you are also an instrumental player, will work also with improvisation. With improvisation you can strengthen your compositional skills, by understanding your intuition, developing your ear, understanding your taste and learning to work with few material, but the most important thing is to learn how to listen and play music with others, because by learning that, you also learn how to communicate and listen all these musical ideas that you have within you before writting (playing) them, controling them and understanding what is needed and what is not in your music. 6) Film scoring --- If you are interested, in this lesson we will also learn how to adapt music to screen. We will learn how to spot the tempo, feeling and texture of a scene but also how to enhance the message of a movie/game/scene/theatre play/documentary with our music. Furthermore will will learn how to use software for midi composition, and VST instruments 7) Electroacoustic composition and sound design --- If you are also interested in electroacoustic music, in this lesson we will learn how to work with sound editting, mixing, design and engineering. We will listen and learn a lot of electroacoustic compositional tecniques to help you explore, understand and work with a complete different musical world. Our goal is to grow your musical perception and horizon. 8) Music notation and software --- For us composers to write our music sometimes we need to use some programs that help us. In the lesson we will learn how to use programs like that, like Musescore, Sibelius, Reaper etc.
