Learning guitar is a great way to connect with music — whether you want to go all in with it, or just looking to set aside a little time each week to do something creative. A good teacher helps make the process smoother and more enjoyable, and that’s what I aim to offer.
I’ve taught kids, teenagers, and adults, and I tailor lessons to each student. We’ll start with the music you enjoy listening to, and use that as a foundation to learn the fundamentals, develop your sound, and build your skills — all while playing songs you actually like. In my experience, this approach keeps lessons interesting and helps things click more naturally.

Extra information

If you have no way of bringing the guitar to the lessons (maybe you're coming from work or school), I've plenty of instruments at my place and you can use one of mine if you ask beforehand! It would be of course better to bring your own instrument, since that's the one you are going to be practicing on.

About Me

Hi, I'm Duccio!

Born and raised in beautiful Firenze, Italy, I’ve been playing guitar for over 10 years. I started out in the world of rock, but over time, my curiosity led me to explore many other styles—pop, folk, funk, hip hop, and more.

I studied guitar at the Conservatory in Florence and later moved to Utrecht, where I completed my Master’s degree in music. These days, I work as a session guitarist in the Utrecht music scene, playing music written by other artists. This has given me the chance to dive into a wide range of genres, and every project teaches me something new.
Besides performing, I also compose my own music and write for various projects. I’m especially fascinated by the guitar’s endless possibilities—whether it’s experimenting with fingerstyle, exploring groove-based styles like funk, or using pedals to create fresh, unexpected sounds.

Teaching is something I truly enjoy. I see it as a two-way exchange: while I share what I know, I also reflect and grow through each lesson. My goal is to create a safe, open, and inspiring environment where you feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and explore the guitar in your own way.

My name is Panagiotis and I am a guitar teacher/player. I have two bachelor degrees: Classical Guitar (Philippos Nakas Conservatory), Jazz&Pop Guitar (HKU Utrecht Conservatory). I have been teaching in music schools and giving individual lessons for the last 14 years. In 2017 I moved to Utrecht to continue my studies in jazz guitar at the Utrecht Conservatory and explore the Dutch music scene.I teach electric, acoustic, classical guitar and music theory. Besides the basic technique and theory knowledge, which Ι make sure to provide to each of my students , I individually prepare their study line, according to their taste and abilities. My goal is to help my students to find their own musicality and reveal their inner voice by giving them the most appropriate tools. Besides teaching I have two bands which I give lots of concerts with , at several venues and festivals.

The way I teach actually depends entirely on the student. The way I explain the concepts, plan and structure the lessons and approach each subject all depends on whether the student is a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and whether he or she has some experience on the subject.

Each student has different needs and different abilities. It's just a matter of getting to know the student, in order to identify both the weaknesses and strengths on which to work.

Lessons will be flexible and based around what the student wants to learn. The duty is to prevent notorious bad habits from being unknowingly learned, common when people don't have a tutor. I encourage students to break the rules of music theory to carve their own path while sticking to a strict practice routine to build technique and drive forward progress in their ability. Classes can be focused on electric guitar of all styles or acoustic classical guitar. I am an experienced guitarist of the last 18 years, touring many countries of Europe with a band and tutoring students from beginner to intermediate. I take great pride in seeing progress in my students and look forward to seeing it in you.

I want to base my lessons on playing the guitar and related instruments in a way that feels mastered and personal.

I therefore want to focus on expression, technique and the aurally malleable nature of the instrument, for example by discussing extended techniques and the use of effect pedals. I want to invite the students to learn to listen carefully to the impact of different playing techniques and audio effects.

During the lessons I want to cover different kinds of music theory, especially in an "applied" way that is valuable to the student. I also want to deal with recording and producing my own work.

Owning your own effects pedals, a guitar amplifier or recording equipment is not required for this course.

Hello there! My name is Vasilis and I am a jazz/rock/eastern traditional and classical guitar player, singer and songwriter currently studying as a 3rd year student in the Jazz and Pop guitar department of HKU conservatory. I am coming from Greece where I graduated from my first bachelor on classical guitar and the last three years I live, study, work and play in Utrecht.

My teaching career started very early, 12 years ago when my classical guitar teacher let me teach my first student and since then I have worked in multiple music schools and in private lessons with students of every age. This year I also started giving my first band coaching group lessons.

In my lessons I try to create a learning path that is formed arround the interests and taste of each student. Since I am a singer and songwriter the lessons can also focus on the creating part of music if of course the student is interested in that. I work with empathy and sensitivity arround the needs of each student.

As for my playing career, I play with multiple bands on original songs of mine or covers in different venues and festivals in Europe. The genres differ between pop, jazz, rock, eastern traditional and blues so I can give a big variety of stylistic directions to each student.

Last but not least, I am also a singer and because of my good performance in school, I was awarded from the HKU Conservatory the oportunity to follow the vocal curriculum of the school as well. So I can help you with singing too!

Learn guitar or develop more advanced approaches through active learning and creativity. Students will be playing music from the very first lesson, and acquiring foundational skills and theoretical knowledge through learning your favourite songs. Lessons are tailored to suit the tastes, aspirations and ability of the students. As an experienced performing musician with a PhD in music, I focus on ‘doing’ rather than ‘knowing’, whether that involves learning songs, developing improvisational techniques or songwriting. I love teaching guitar, and I am good at it. Learning music is similar to learning a language. We learn by imitating the sounds that we hear. During this stage, I also incorporate proper technique; how the instrument should be held and how the strings should be strummed or plucked. Once the sound is adequately imitated, we look at influences and start developing vocabulary. Finally, I want to ensure the student can replicate these precise sounds. I do this by teaching the theory and reasoning behind the vocabulary.
