About Me

Born in Vigo, he began his cello studies at the age of eight at the Professional Conservatory of Music in the same city with Isabel Figueroa. In 2008 he moved to Barcelona to graduate from the Conservatori Superior Liceu under the tutelage of Ángel Luis Quintana and Arnau Tomás.

During his stay in Barcelona, he began his immersion in the field of improvised music and Jazz. He has played in renowned festivals such as the Voll Damm Jazz in Barcelona, Pop Arb, VallSonora or Curtcircuit. After graduating from the Consertavorio, he continued his cello and double bass training at the Permanent Jazz Seminary of Pontevedra with the pianist and composer Abe Rábade. In 2016 she was invited by the Galician cello association, Soncello, to teach her first Violoncello and Loop pedal workshop and in 2019 Free Improvisation.

He has received classes from prestigious cellists such as Cristoph Coin, Barbara Switalska, Asier Polo or Herre Jan Stegenga and has also been part of different national orchestras such as the Real Filharmonía de Galicia or internationally such as the Réssonnance Orchestra in Switzerland, or La Via dei Concerti, with which he undertook a tour of Italy, France and Spain with concerts, including an Audience at the Vatican in Rome or the Universal Exhibition Fair in Milan.

In 2014 he toured Italy with Jazz accordionist Carmine Ionanna. In 2015 he formed the duo Treme together with the singer and guitarist Su Garrido, awarded the Xove Music award for the best Galician band and offering concerts at different festivals and auditoriums such as the Vigo ImaxinaSons Jazz Festival, the International Film Festival and PlayDoc documentary, broadcast live on Radio 3 (RNE) or at the Conde Duque Auditorium in Madrid.
