Şanal was born in 1996 in Bergama, a province of Izmir. He began his musical training at the age of eleven with guitar lessons at the Bergama Public Education Center. In 2010, he was accepted to the Işılay Saygın College of Arts in Izmir, where he continued his piano studies with Şebnem Özkan Şiri and his guitar studies with Ismet Tezcan. Alongside his guitar studies, he received a full scholarship to the YÜSEM Institute and studied with Onur Önem at Yaşar University. During his school years, he won third place in the Ankara Science High School Guitar Competition and first place in the Izmir National High School Guitar Competition. In 2014, he was accepted on a full scholarship to the Guitar Faculty at Bilkent University. During his studies, he studied guitar with Professor Kagan Korad and Serkan Agır.
