I am a professional percussion player. I graduated from The Royal Danish Music Academy in 2017 and I am currently attending the soloist postgraduate course. Choosing to do music can serve different roles in our lives. It can be a fun hobby and a way to find a private creative space or it can become a profession and a dedicated life choice. My approach to the lessons will therefore change accordingly. In my teaching I like to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with each student according to his/her personality and individuality in order to make each lesson as advantageous as possible. I always hope to encourage within my students a very deep commitment to their instruments and the practice of music. I am very happy to work both with beginners, intermediate and advanced students. With beginners I think it’s important to build a solid technical basis and knowledge of music and solfége and to work on how to build a productive practice routine. Lessons will be structured differently according to the individual, his age and goals, but keeping in mind these targets. When working with more advanced students I like to move the focus more and more to a deeper approach to the music and its meaning. Technic becomes the means to let the musician speak himself through the music he is playing. I think it is very important to let anyone find his own voice in music and explore different genres of music in order to find the one that suits you best.

Trusted teacher: While being a guitar teacher for many years I realized the demand for developing skills in recording, composing and producing one's own music using audio software. As our lives become more and more influenced by digitalisation, it is my belief that also our music education should adapt to this. So, whether you want to record your own ideas, make beats on your laptop, learn about synthesizers or audio production, feel free to reach out to me! My teaching method is based on developing your own creativity right from the start, while learning useful techniques and knowledge about audio software etc. on the way. I mainly use Ableton, but a lot can be done in GarageBand or even on your tablet or phone! If you're already playing an instrument we will try to connect both practices, but if you're just starting out with doing music, that works as well and together we learn unconventional methods to get you started on your journey. I encourage people of all levels of experiences and levels (even kids!) to give it a try, it can be so much fun! I'm a professional composer and musician, currently pursuing a master's degree in electroacoustic music at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. I think that learning as an adult is a bit challenging. However, Santiago's classes are fun and it feels easy to learn. I feel I am progressing and I enjoy the lessons.
