Violin and viola lessons for: Beginners Intermediate Advanced Children Adults – of all ages At the center of my teaching philosophy is musical inspiration: finding music, exercises and methods that inspire you to practice. To find ways to make practicing and playing the violin feel effortless and most importantly, fun! In our lessons, I will find out what interests you and find ways to base the lesson on what you want and need. The best kind of practice is a little (almost) every day. Let's find a way to make this happen while still having fun. Once we have the inspiration, we will work on the details. I am a professional and international violinist. I have a degree in education and 19 years of experience teaching violin. I have taught violin in various contexts: conservatories, schools, summer schools and of course private lessons. In 2020, I developed my own method of teaching by ear and this is what I studied for my master's degree in musicology. I taught at the Rennes and Châtenay-Malabry Conservatories. This summer, I will teach in three summer schools: EBR internship in Rennes; Scottish Whispers Stage in Rennes and the European String Teacher's Association Stage in England. I also plan to complete the State Diploma here in France. I have the possibility for new students to join me from September 18th. I am available Mondays and Tuesdays.

My approach as your violin and/or viola guide might be a little different than you would expect. I want to invite you on a journey of playfulness and free improvisation guided by moments of joy. I don’t believe in right or wrong when it comes to sound as I am convinced that everyone has their own unique sound. In our lessons I want to help you discover how YOU sound, even before we start talking about notes and music pieces. When it comes to playing existing music, we will work with any music that you love, transcribed to your level. I find joy in creating a safe and transformative space for you to explore your creativity and develop a true passion for your instrument.

Hallo, my name is Chloe Slane, and I am currently finishing my degree in college right now studying abroad in Berlin. I have played the viola since I was 8 years old, and started on the violin at 6. I am currently getting both a music degree in Viola Performance and a Philosophy degree, in a 5-year Double Major Program through a school in New York. I will be in Berlin for the whole school year & most of the summer, so if you are interested and cheap & easy lessons for your kids to learn some more, I am happy to help out! I am an advanced level, have been playing for about 12-13 years, and it has become one of my main professions in life, so it is very much a skill of mine. Although I am young, I love helping and teaching kids as well, as it sparks interest in many!

- The Suzuki method is fun and practical for beginners - We'll work on technique (position, scales, a little music theory) and musicality (I'm open to any musical suggestions): as a composer myself, I don't hesitate to play or improvise accompaniments with my students for a more collaborative experience. - I can teach violin and viola, having studied both - My courses are aimed at beginners, false beginners, and intermediate level students (2nd cycle of conservatory)

I offer personalised violin lessons for children, teenagers and adults. Lessons can include technique, repertoire, sight-reading and music theory according to each student's level and goals. Lessons are available in English or Spanish, with flexible scheduling in Maastricht.
