Hello, My name is Suyeon and I'm a professional concert violinist who has a bachelors and masters degree from the Juilliard School as well as an artist diploma/konzertexamen from Hans Eisler in Berlin. I studied under Itzhak Perlman since the age of 16 and under Don Weilerstein since the age of 15. For a time, I traveled the world to play concerts and recently I got married And have decided to slow down a bit. I have recently moved to Geneva for my husband and would love to teach. I have taught quite a bit in New York (all ages and all levels), many of those students were directly sent to me from Itzhak Perlman. I live in nyon but can be mobile. My fee is 100 an hour but can be negotiated. I am fluent in Korean and English, and French is proficient but not fluent. Please PM me for more details! I offer individual violin lessons for beginners, advanced players and music students. My particular focus is on Baroque music and historically informed performance practice. For the past three years, I have been intensively studying the Baroque violin and the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. In my teaching, I convey not only technical fundamentals but also stylistic understanding, phrasing, articulation, and the characteristic sound of Baroque music. In addition, I naturally also teach the classical violin repertoire. Lessons cover playing technique, bowing, intonation, vibrato, scales, musical expression, and efficient practice. I'm happy to support you with entrance exams, competitions, orchestra auditions, or when learning new pieces. Each lesson is individually tailored to your goals and skill level. I am studying violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw).
