But just as important as that is the opportunity to share some of the tools I learned from drama school with other people - tools that can be used every day in communication, emotional regulation and play. Daniel - London£58
Trusted teacher: Approach to Teaching – I favor a structured approach. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catering to the student's specific needs. – Academic lessons tend to be structured around specific sections of the syllabus, or particular topics that students require help with. – I employ a seminar-style format. I flesh out ideas with the aid of quotations, other audio-visual resources, and analytical commentary. I structure my lesson plans with a view to providing gaps, in which students are able to ask questions about the content. I am also happy for students to interrupt the flow of the lesson if a burning question arises. – I use Powerpoint to provide students with a variety of resources and visual stimuli. Lesson Structure – Academic lessons tend to be 45 minutes to an hour in length, but I can adapt my teaching schedule to provide students with additional support if needed. – Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters to a student's requirements. Academic Credentials – I am a candidate for a Ph.D. in Music at the University of Cambridge. – I hold an MPhil in Music from the University of Cambridge, where I specialized in Historical Musicology and Musical Aesthetics. – I have a first-class music degree (74.4%) from the University of Manchester, where I won three Hargreaves Prizes for Academic Achievement. – I have worked as an Assistant Music Teacher, which involved teaching Music A-Level students. Professional Credentials – I have worked as a private violin teacher for 7 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills. – I have an extensive portfolio of performing credits on documentary films. Recent highlights include the BAFTA-nominated score for the BBC docuseries on Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein 'House of Maxwell' (BBC2, 2022), and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021). – I have extensive experience as an orchestral musician and chamber music performer. I led the University of Cambridge Experimental Music Ensemble (CUEME) when I was studying for my master's degree at the University of Cambridge. I also led the University of Manchester Chamber Orchestra in the second year of my undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester and premiered a good deal of new music with The Eskandari String Quartet. – I have performed at the West Road Concert Hall (University of Cambridge), the Lee Tseng Hall (Wolfson College Cambridge), the Buxton International Festival, the Manchester International Festival, and Bridgewater Hall. – I achieved a distinction (92%) in my ATCL Diploma in violin performance, and a First (78%) in the final violin recital of my undergraduate degree. Expected Ability of Students – Academic level: Beginner through to GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate Music and History of Philosophy

Vicki - Falkirk£46
Trusted teacher: I am a fully qualified primary school teacher based in Falkirk with over 15 years of experience particularly in the upper primary level. If your child needs additional input in English or Maths to help them reinforce their classroom learning or if they are looking to extend themselves to work at Third Level in preparation for High School or Entrance Exams, then I am here to help. After our initial ‘get to know you’ session, I will build a program of learning that will support your child in all identified areas, helping them to feel more confident with concepts or skills they have found tricky to master as well as challenge them to reach their full potential moving towards higher level learning. My goal is to create supportive and engaging session where students feel motivated to explore, make mistakes in a safe environment and ultimately, experience success, helping to boost their confidence in any classroom or examination setting. Mathematics is often seen as a problem area for many students and their ‘tricky’ subject. With every student that identifies this as an area for development, my focus is on building a strong foundation in maths reinforcing key concepts, using key problem-solving strategies as well as developing critical thinking skills. Through the use of real-world, tangible examples, I will help students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and how they can be applied in their own lives. This work will be followed up with targeted areas for further practice, consolidation and/or additional challenge. During my writing sessions, I will guide students in developing their practical writing skills, i.e. grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and organisation of points/plot. Whilst encouraging creativity throughout, I will ensure there are multiple opportunities for students to express themselves through various writing genres. We will also work on editing and reviewing with feedback sessions built in to help consolidate the techniques introduced. I strongly believe that reading is the key to unlocking a whole world of knowledge and imagination. In my reading sessions, I will focus on developing essential skills such as phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocab. Through a variety of activities, including reading aloud, guided reading, discussion and analysis, I will help students improve their reading abilities, expand their literary horizons, and hopefully, foster a lifelong love for books. I look forward to working with you.

My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour. Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks!

The first lesson with Hajra went very well and my 11 years old daughter did immediately connect with her. She was able to make the learning enjoyable and interactive, which gave my daughter a good feeling. This is very important as my daughter need an emotional connection to feel comfortable asking questions and keep motivated. Hajra also seem experienced, competent and knowledgeable. I have high hopes for the future lessons...thanks!

Excellent friendly communication, easy to arrange lessons at a time that's convenient for me. After an initial discussion she made a lesson plan based on the specific areas I wanted to focus on, with additional lessons based on areas she identified. Lessons are friendly and open - concepts are clearly communicated with room to ask as many questions as needed.
