I am a qualified Theatre Director who uses acting and performance techniques to help you build confidence speaking in public, and get you comfortable within your own voice and body. Using my background in English Literature and writing, and my Masters in Drama Directing from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School; I will tailor classes to each students particular needs and goals. Working closely with students on textual clarity, vocal technique, nerves and confidence is my speciality. You might need some 1-2-1 assistance with a particular speech, you might want some help working through nerves, or you might want to build your basic vocal abilities to be ready for any work context. Vocal training can help with so many things; even the ability to think on your feet or feel more like yourself when you are faced with a room of people to talk to. I draw from a range of theatre practitioners such as Barbara Houseman, Katie Mitchell, Stanislavski and Misner, and enjoy employing vocal techniques to help gain clarity with text. Painting is one of the greatest ways you can express yourself. By experimenting with colours, shapes, perspectives and motives, you can expand the limits of your thinking and imagination. It is all about the process of playing with colours and materials. To help develop your current skills, my classes are designed individually for beginners and intermediates. If you are a beginner, you can expect to learn how to paint with different materials (e.g. watercolours, gouache, acrylics, pastels, oil paints) and to discover various painting techniques. The goal is to build confidence in your painting, allowing you to find the best way to express your ideas and develop your creativity. For intermediate students, my lessons will serve as a space for further exploration of your own artistic voice using different painting mediums. I will help you challenge the way you approach the world around you to draw inspiration for your art. I am an RCA MA Painting graduate, and I have a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Westminster University, and a Foundation diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. I am a practicing artist based in London, specializing in painting, and I have been showing my work nationally and internationally. My recent solo show was at Class Reiss London, and I also had a solo presentation at Art Athina. My fascination with tutoring derives from my sensitivity around learning disabilities, something which is a recurring theme in my practice as I grew up as a dyslexic learner, as well as my educational experience of being part of leading academic UK institutions. We will also work on editing and reviewing with feedback sessions built in to help consolidate the techniques introduced. I strongly believe that reading is the key to unlocking a whole world of knowledge and imagination. Preview the poem by reading the title and paying attention to the poem's form: shape on the page, stanzas, number of lines and ending punctuation. Read poem aloud several times to hear rhyme, rhythm, and the overall sound of the poem. This makes it easier to understand the poem. Inferring is how we enter into those holes and spaces as we read. When we infer, we figure out what the author might have meant when information isn’t explicitly stated. In Strategies That Work, we make inferences by combining our background knowledge with clues from the words on the page. Novels tend to be easy to read. You can sit down and become absorbed by a book for an hour or more. Poems, on the other hand, typically require slow and careful study to glean their full meaning. The lines of a poem tend to be more complex, more “packed with meaning,” than lines of text in other types of literature.

I'm an experienced and award winning artist, passionated about watercolour. Here, I'm combining both my passions to share it with you! In this class, you'll learn how to use the brush to draw beautiful flowers, plants and (self-)portraits, from 'wet on dry' to 'wet on wet' techniques. The later is a technique that uses wet paint against wet paint or wet paper to create beautiful bleeds and blooms, allowing the watercolour paint to spread and blend. The results can be astonishing!
