Some students believe that they are not mathematically gifted; therefore incapable of learning mathematics. I believe the contrary, that all students with motivation sustained by the teacher and confidence in their mathematical skills are essential to the student’s success in the classroom. I include reflection in my daily practices to encourage students to be reflective, while developing their ability to learn and innovate. In my opinion, reflection is fundamental for students to be able to manage complex thinking processes and outcomes adequately. Reflective practices aid learners to expand their understanding of concepts by creating new connections and relating different ideas; and can guide them to understand themselves as learners by maximizing their strengths and minimizing their weaknesses. To support my students to become independent and reflective learners, I consider two complementary types of reflection: Reflecting on what is being accomplished to support deeper understanding of the concepts; and making learning itself an object of reflection to support student self-regulation and independent learning. I refer to the Socratic Method, Bloom’s Taxonomy of Critical Thought and Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences when I am creating my daily lesson plans to assure that I teach to a variety of learning styles. By teaching to these learning styles and presenting the concept in the ways stated above, I create an atmosphere where success for the student is probable. I consider success to be more likely because not only am I presenting information multiple ways, but I am also encouraging students who understand the material to help others who do not; therefore giving the students a view of the material from their peers. Creating this success is the first step in motivation. I believe that once the students understand that math is a subject that they can understand, their confidence and motivation will increase therefore making them more apt to put forth more effort in the math classroom.

Many students lose confidence in math over the school year - not from lack of ability, but from pace, gaps, or one bad unit that never got resolved. I provide high-level instruction in university mathematics and statistics for students in STEM, Economics, Engineering, and Data Science programs. This class is designed for students who require conceptual depth, mathematical rigor, and practical analytical skills, not surface-level tutoring. I teach core university subjects including Calculus I–III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Probability, and Statistics, with a strong emphasis on understanding how mathematical theory is applied in real academic and research contexts. My approach goes beyond standard problem-solving. Math, calculus and physics can sometimes be overwhelming, especially when the theory or solving method is unclear. I am a cum laude Aerospace Engineering graduate from TU Delft and have helped other pupils with their problems since 2017. With my calm and stepwise explanation, a second alternative view of the solution procedure is given, which is often what is missing. I tutor a variety of math and physics courses on both secondary and high school levels, but also at a scientific bachelor level. These can either be theory/exercise-based, but also exam preparation.

As a highly qualified maths teacher, a graduate of the college of teachers and with 11 years of teaching experience in public high schools, I am happy to offer tutoring lessons in mathematics at home for students from level T and Common Core Sciences, TC Technological, 1st Baccalaureate Experimental Sciences and final of all the sectors (SVT-PC-SC.Math-L), as well as for the classes of 2nd and 1st general, Terminale specialty of the French system, as well than the 5th, 4th and 3rd levels of college. My primary objective is to help students improve their level, deepen their knowledge, assimilate their lessons, fill their gaps and improve their skills in the discipline of mathematics. In addition, I am perfectly able to support them in the preparation of their exams and competitions for access to the Grandes Ecoles, and to provide them with homework help so that they can succeed in this subject. With my advanced math skills and knowledge, I am confident that I can provide my students with effective tools and techniques to help them progress. My goal is to give them confidence and help them develop a passion for mathematics, a subject that can seem daunting at first, but can be exciting and rewarding if taught in an interesting and fun way.
