Chemistry is the central science, and is incredibly useful in preparing us for the real world. It is a branch of science that deals with the interactions of atoms, molecules and compounds. In this class, students will learn about the fundamentals of chemistry, ranging from the periodic table, chemical bonding and stoichiometry; as well as the more challenging parts that involve the use of mathematics, chemical equilibria and organic synthesis. I will cover the major branches of chemistry, including organic, inorganic and physical; analytical chemistry will be touched on too. As part of the A-level chemistry syllabus there are required practicals that must be completed, though I will not do the practical itself with students, I will help solidify their understanding by going over skills that they may be tested on in exams. I fully trust in my capabilities to learn, teach and to be questioned in order to help students progress in their studies, there will be a variety of activities that I myself will plan out or select from the CGP A-level chemistry (AQA) textbook or another source. I do not have certified experience in tutoring, however, I am involved in the learning of my younger siblings of 11 (primary school yr, 6) and 14 (secondary school yr, 9), and help them out on various occasions. Are you struggling to keep up with your Biology content? Do you find it hard to understand complex biological concepts and theories? Look no further! I am here to help you achieve your academic goals and excel in biology. I am a highly qualified and experienced secondary science teacher who has a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of biology. I am well-versed in all aspects of biology, from cellular and molecular biology to ecology and evolution, and can explain difficult concepts in a clear and concise manner. I have 5 years of teaching all three secondary science subjects in KS3 and KS4, as well as 4 years of Biology A-level. Whether you need help with homework assignments, exam preparation, or just want to deepen your understanding of biology, I can provide personalised, one-on-one guidance and support. I will work with you to identify your strengths and weaknesses, and tailor their approach to your individual learning style and pace. I can use a variety of teaching methods and resources, such as interactive simulations, videos, and diagrams, to make the learning experience engaging and enjoyable. I am also patient, friendly, and approachable, and will create a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Most of the lessons will follow this structure; 1. An Introduction, explaining the concept and its importance. 2. Inquiry-based activity: This could be a work sheet, mind map or data. 3. Experimentation: Should there be an experiment linked, we will explore its importance. 4. Data analysis: Once the experiments are completed, we will then analyse the data and make graphs or tables to show their results. We will have a discussion on the patterns and trends observed, and ask my student to explain the underlying biological mechanisms. 5. Concept mapping: To consolidate their understanding we will create a concept map or a mind map that summarises the main concepts and relationships involved in the process. 6. Closure: To wrap up the lesson, I will pose some open-ended questions to stimulate further reflection and inquiry. Then, finish with some exam style questions. By following these steps, I can create a student-centred, inquiry-based learning experience that combines hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and concept mapping with collaborative and reflective learning. This type of lesson can help the students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a deeper understanding of the complex and fascinating world of biology.
