I am Dev, a science teacher based in the United Kingdom. I have been accredited by OFSTED/Department for Education as an “Excellent Teacher”. To gain this accreditation you need to show consistent outstanding results over a number of years and have the ability to teach outstanding inspiring lessons on a daily basis in the classroom. I have been a science teacher for thirty years now. I also have been teaching private lessons at secondary for thirty years now. I teach A/AS Level Biology, IB Biology, IGCSE and UK Science GCSE’s. I have an excellent command of A/AS Level Biology (AQA/OCR), IB Biology, IGCSE and UK Triple Science GCSE’s. My approach to tutoring is simple but highly effective. I discover what the students strengths and weaknesses are and therefore understand how to adapt my teaching style to suit their needs. I develop a climate of calm, patience and trust, but with a high level of expectation. A simple lesson plan would be to tackle and reteach a students area of concern. This is not through rote teaching but by breaking down the topic into its simplest components and then rebuilding the topic back up to the level of complexity that needs to be understood. This is then backed up with mini assessments within a lesson to gauge the students learning. Finally, extended homework tasks can be set to help embed the learning that took place in the lesson. About me Hi, I am Dev, a science teacher teaching in the United Kingdom. I am currently the Head of Biology in my school and have held the post for the past ten years. I have also mentored and trained science trainee teachers for the past twenty five years. I have a real passion for science and this can be seen in my lessons where students will often have smiles on their faces and enjoying their science lessons. I am very proud of my strong history of outstanding results and wish to use this experience to help your child. I also have many years of experience teaching students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, ADHD and Asperger's syndrome I have a fun and warm personality and have the ability to make students feel at ease. I have a passion for playing football and cooking. I always focus on the positive things in life and try to instil that ethos into my students.

Frederick holds several degrees from Imperial College, London. Firstly, he has an M.Sc. in Chemistry with Molecular Physics in which he gained un Upper Second Class Degree. After this degree, he returned to complete further studies and achieved an M.Sc. in Theory and Simulation of Materials. Frederick has a QTS and a PGCE in Secondary Physics. Throughout his time in Higher Education Frederick became a tutor and ambassador for a programme called Spectroscopy in a Suitcase (SIAS). For SIAS, Frederick taught A level students how to use IR and NMR machines (by using SIAS`s portable NMR and IR machines taken to schools). During these interactive visits, Frederick taught students the theories behind IR and NMR spectroscopy. Frederick was also involved with STEM OUTREACH at Imperial College, London. On this programme he mentored Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths to disadvantaged (but bright) 14-18-year-old students. Throughout his time in these outreach and educational programmes, Frederick began his official teaching career and began teaching at Kensington Aldridge Academy, where he taught for a number of years. Frederick continues to offer classes of one-to-one private tuition and has an extraordinary wealth of experience in a range of subjects. He is a strong Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths GCSE tutor. He has extensively tutored Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths A-level with excellent levels of success. He has also tutored advanced Mathematics, Physics and Materials to Mechanical Engineering undergraduate students. He is well versed in a broad range of exam boards too. Frederick has tutored students from prestigious schools such as St. Paul’s School, St Paul’s Girls School, Tiffin School, Westminster and Rugby amongst others. When Frederick was a student at sixth form, he was forced to teach himself A2 Further Mathematics as well as A2 Additional Further Mathematics. It was this experience that helped him discover how important a good teacher was! It helped him to learn new concepts in a more intuitive (and efficient) manner, which now forms the basis of his own teaching. In this way, students are able to become competent and independent learners. Frederick helps students to raise both confidence and attainment. Personal Approach: When I was a student at sixth form, I was forced to self-teach A2 level further mathematics, and A2 additional further mathematics. This experience helped me to discover how to learn new concepts in a more intuitive (and efficient) manner the experience is what helped me to become a great tutor. I make sure that I thoroughly read through the exam specification for each subject that I am tutoring. Due to my extensive knowledge in chemistry, physics, maths, and further maths - I don`t mind which subject we cover on the day. I make sure that I spend the most time covering the topics that the tutee is actually struggling with - which is the most efficient way of helping the student reach their personal goal (and beyond). Frederick has the following experience: · Mathematics: KS3, iGCSE/GCSE, A level/A level Further Mathematics, IB (SL and HL), MAT preparation, STEP II & III preparation, Undergraduate mathematics, and Postgraduate mathematics. · Chemistry: KS3, iGCSE/GCSE, A level/IB, and Undergraduate chemistry. · Physics: KS3, iGCSE/GCSE, A level/IB, PAT preparation, and Undergraduate physics. · Biology: KS3, iGCSE/GCSE, and A level/IB. · Computer Science: KS3, iGCSE/GCSE, A level/IB, and Undergraduate CS.
