I started my journey of learning how to shuffle/cut shapes a little over a year and a half ago and it ignited a flame of passion in me like nothing had in a very long time. I'd say it's turned into a somewhat spiritual experience for me. Although there is of course still a lot for me to learn and improve on and I feel like my journey has just started, I feel confident that I can help others get started on their own journey. My fundamentals as well as my knowledge and understanding of the dance are pretty solid and I would never try to teach you something that is outside of my expertise. I think at the end of the day though, the most important thing with dance is to just have fun and to learn to find confidence and freedom in your expression through it, so most of all I hope I can help you find that.

Hi! My name is Ioannis. I am a professional dancer of Greek traditional dances. My passion for Greek dances started 25 years ago when I was only 5 years old! I have been an active member of the International Dance Council (CID, UNESCO), the official organization for all forms of dance in all countries of the world. I successfully participated in numerous national and international festivals worldwide, with many awards, while I am a certified teacher by Greek Dances Theatre “Dora Stratou”. During my courses, you can learn several dances from all the Greek regions. Together we can learn how to dance in an authentic way, getting to know in depth the Greek heritage. The lessons include the provision of cultural and folklore knowledge for each specific region as well as dance explanation style based on the socio-economical and geological characteristics. The dances options may include: Zempekiko, Ikariotikos, Syrtaki, Pentozali, Xasapiko, Zonaradiko, Tik, Serra, Tsamiko, Syrtos and Ballos. The lessons are tailor-made based on every student’s focusing on every student’s skills and knowledge, always focusing on personal wishes. Together we can build a plan so you can focus on the style of dance you wish! Lessons can be individual but also in groups after discussion (e.g. family, couples, friends).

Based on the practices that I have learned in training to become a contemporary dancer, I will lead you through movement principles that are accessible to everyone. You will be guided through improvisation which will allow you to explore your own toolkit of movement and what dance means to you. The aim of this class is to find pleasure in movement and to let go of the fear of dancing in a particular way. These classes are open to all who are seeking to rediscover their dancing self! I am a USA-trained figure skater. With my private tutoring, learn all the basics of figure skating up to some more advanced basic moves. The curriculum includes: Swizzles One Foot Glides Forward Crossovers Backward Crossovers Inside and Outside Edges Two Foot Spin Spirals Three Turns Off Ice Strength Conditioning And more! I focus very closely on maintaining correct form. Coaching can be customized to your preferences if you would like to focus on improving certain skills. I am not affiliated with a rink so our class is informal and done at times when the rink is not busy, ie late on weekdays.

📌It doesn't always take two for things to work... To begin to connect, assimilate and experiment with new KNOWLEDGE, the most IMPORTANT thing is the body, the attitude, perseverance and a great pinch of confidence! I always like to approach the codes of different dance disciplines, based on structures that work on the physical, rhythmic, and creative aspects. There is an idea that Tango is difficult to learn, and of course if we approach it with that label, it will be that way. Starting from the main concept of tango, WALKING, something that we all do most of the time, dancing tTANGO is within everyone's reach.🤗 Another very important point is the way to assimilate and understand it 😉😅 ❤️‍🔥What will the classes be like, you ask? I'll tell you a little bit, we are going to develop the structure in the work of weight changes, the step, projection of the walk, the pivot, understanding the kinesphere individually and as a couple translated into the hug, the turns and the spiral torso to understand the momentum in various exercises, the eights so famous in tango, the basic step and universal exit, walks with the concept of lanes and much more from various sequences that familiarize you with the technical needs to be able to perform the steps without leaving aside the dynamics, pulse, accent and compas of the tango. Everything will be raised in the background in a more organic way. It's not just about learning individual steps, and then...what do we do 🧐? It is not the form that should take the leading role, but the way in which you express that form. We will also let your creative and playful side be part of the process, through a tool that I consider very valuable, which is improvisation 👌 since it allows you to find your own style and recognize your strengths and weaknesses to continue growing in your passion for dance.
