Singing is a whole body activity, so in this class we will work with movement, breathing, and of course, the voice. Besides, this class will bring you a big feeling of relaxation and self-connection.
The first half of the class is focused on vocal technique, vocal warm-ups and body warm-up. I like to use different approaches of teaching, with emphasis on the connection between body and voice. The second half is focused on a song from your repertory. As a Brazilian singer, I have a vast repertory of Brazilian songs and rhythms as well as South-American and World Music. I also graduated from a Jazz University in São Paulo and France, so my knowledge goes beyond the Brazilian universe, including Jazz and Pop music.
Let's move and sing together. All singing levels are welcome!

About Me

I was born in Brazil, and music is my life. I sing since I was 2 years old. My parents say that as a child, I used to sing with a broom, pretending to hold a microphone. With 7 years old, I started my studies in Violin, and played it for 5 years. During that time, I also sang in the orchestra presentations. I started my studies in singing with 11 years old, and never stopped since that time.
As a singer I believe that everyone can sing, because the voice is an organic instrument. We just need to develop our body consciousness and learn how to use our instrument.

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.
My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.
