Nous utiliserons différents supports (partitions, accompagnements ou tout simplement votre oreille !) pour apprendre à déchiffrer les codes musicaux et les transformer en sons.

Extra information

Il faut disposer d'un instrument de musique : clarinette en si bémol ou saxophone alto en mi bémol, avec bec, anches et ligature... en état de marche bien sûr !

About Me

Je suis professeur de clarinette et de saxophone en école de musique. L'âge de mes élèves varie de 8 à 70 ans.
Je dirige également un petit orchestre et travaille beaucoup en musique collective avec mes élèves : ensembles de clarinettes ou de saxophones.

De formation classique, j'ai un DEM de clarinette et musique de chambre reçu en conservatoire.
Après un bac économique, je suis diplômé d'une de Licence de géographie sociale.

Would you classify improvisation as composition or performance? Well actually it is both! When you improvise you are composing music on the spot, performing what you have made up at the same time as you have composed it.

For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease.

The key to success is understanding chords. Once you know how chords are formed and know what notes make up a few chords you will be well on your way towards being able to improvise. We will, therefore, start by ensuring a firm knowledge of certain chords. After this we will progress to improvising a simple melody over the top of these chords. The next stage is to start using notes that are not in the chord. The process is then open ended with emphasis on developing the melody.

If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session.

Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

J'enseigne en ligne via Zoom, en utilisant un logiciel qui vous permet de voir les touches exactes que je joue sur mon clavier.

Ma méthode d'enseignement consiste à me concentrer sur le type de musique que l'élève préfère et à partir de là, à progresser. Je crois que beaucoup abandonnent leur rêve de jouer d'un instrument simplement par manque d'inspiration. Mon objectif est donc d'inculquer l'amour de la musique, quelle que soit sa signification personnelle pour chaque élève.

Chacun apprend différemment et à son propre rythme. Certains élèves apprécient un cours hebdomadaire ou bimensuel, tandis que d'autres me contactent de temps en temps, une fois qu'ils ont assimilé le cours précédent et se sentent prêts à le développer. Quoi qu'il en soit, je suis très flexible et nous trouverons ensemble la solution la plus adaptée à vos besoins.

Un peu sur moi :

Après avoir d'abord perfectionné mes compétences sur la scène jazz britannique et effectué des résidences dans des restaurants et des bars à travers le pays, j'ai ensuite parcouru le monde en jouant sur des bateaux de croisière, dans des hôtels et lors de festivals. De retour à Londres, j'ai obtenu mon master de piano jazz à la Guildhall School of Music et, pendant cette période, je me suis produit régulièrement au Ronnie Scott's, au Vortex et dans de nombreuses autres salles du Royaume-Uni. J'ai ensuite passé deux ans en Amérique du Sud à me familiariser avec la salsa et la musique cubaine. Aujourd'hui, je travaille principalement comme transcripteur, écrivant des partitions pour tous les instruments, y compris des partitions complètes pour big band. J'ai également beaucoup travaillé dans le théâtre musical, plus récemment comme directeur musical des « Jersey Boys » et lors de la première tournée américaine de « Summer : the Donna Summer Musical ». La vidéo ci-dessous illustre mon passage en tant que metteur en scène de « After Midnight », un spectacle sur la musique du Duke Ellington Big Band.

Soy músico profesional y llevo más de 20 años impartiendo clases a alumnos de todas las edades. Mi experiencia como profesor y la búsqueda de auto superarme como músico, me han llevado a desarrollar un método eficaz que ya he probado con más de un centenar de alumnos.
A lo largo de mi carrera tuve la satisfacción de estudiar con grandes maestros de diferentes especialidades o estilos, cada uno enfatizaba en diferentes aspectos del flamencos, guitarra clásica o moderna y cada uno me ha dado su enfoque (técnica, ritmos, acompañamiento, armonía, etc.), lo que me ha llevado después de años de estudio y recopilación a sacar lo mejor de cada uno para conseguir desarrollar mi método.

Mi papel en mis clases más que de profesor es casi de entrenador personal, donde estará súper atento a sacar lo mejor de mis alumnos, buscar la técnica adecuada que ayude a tener soniquete, trabajar el ritmo, etc.
Para mi el papel de un profesor además de ensañar, es ser parte de un equipo de trabajo, para mantener la moral y auto superarse constantemente manteniendo siempre el amor por la música.

Metodología:
Las clases las oriento según el nivel, estilo o búsqueda del alumno/a, por lo general la primera mitad de la clase la dedicamos a estudiar la técnica, donde estará atento a la correcta colocación, ejecución, relajación que como resultado nos dará buen sonido, y sobre todo con el tiempo me di cuenta que también es una manera de conectar con la guitarra para concentrarse además de calentar. Así que poco a poco iremos escribiendo nuestra rutina donde ya estaremos trabajando aspectos básicos rítmicos.
La segunda mitad nos dedicamos a tocar tratando de poner en práctica lo que aprendimos de la técnica con los palos o estudiar otras inquietudes del alumno que puede ser algún tema, armonía, falsetas, improvisación, o incluso otros estilos, etc. siempre obviamente teniendo en cuenta la búsqueda o interés del alumno/a.

In my lessons, we work deeply on harmonic analysis, counterpoint, and musical structure across the full spectrum of academic music from all historical periods, as well as jazz and popular music. A central pillar of the classes is the analysis of composers, which we approach as an essential tool for understanding musical language and developing a personal creative voice. Depending on the student’s interests, analysis may range from Mozart to Debussy, or from Beethoven to Bartók, among many others.
A strong emphasis is placed on counterpoint from all historical periods. I assist students with conservatory-level exercises, and we study contrapuntal techniques through the analysis and practice of Bach’s inventions and fugues, Renaissance counterpoint, and 20th-century contrapuntal approaches.
In composition classes, the content is fully adapted to the student’s creative needs and goals. The focus is on developing practical creative tools that support original thinking, with the clear objective of composing original pieces of short, medium, and long duration, tailored to each student’s artistic direction.
For orchestration, we explore writing techniques for a wide range of ensembles, including chamber music, full orchestra, and popular music formations such as quartets, quintets, big band, and tango orchestras. Particular attention is given to instrumental color, balance, articulation, and idiomatic writing.
As an Argentinian composer and educator, I offer a specialized perspective on tango, including in-depth analysis of composers such as Astor Piazzolla, as well as composition and orchestration techniques related to tango. Due to the geographical and cultural proximity, I also offer classes focused on Bossa Nova, exploring its harmonic language, rhythmic structures, and stylistic characteristics.
