About Me

What does it mean to me to be a teacher?
It means to be able to help anyone struggling with the language. I wouldn’t call myself a teacher, though. I’d prefer being called “a speaking partner/ a mentor “ as the image of a traditional teacher puts me off somehow 🙈.
Why did I become a teacher?
I love people and I’m good at English, one of the ways to combine both is to be an English tutor:)
What is my ''working style''? What do I pay attention to the most?
To be honest, I believe my main task is to support a student and make their learning path as smooth as possible. I tend to say that a mistake is a cool thing, because reflecting on one’s own mistakes is a much faster way of acquiring knowledge than covering a whole unit of a textbook. Although it’s obvious that textbooks are there to help and structure the process, they are usually divorced from reality. That’s why, I’m a fan of working with tv series, news, tiktok videos etc. There’s always something great to discuss:)
