Hello!

I am an experienced, qualified language teacher from the UK, currently living in Japan.
I specialise in English, French, and Spanish, and I have a CELTA and a PGCE. I've taught children aged 6-18 and adults, too. I currently teach English at a university.

As a language learner myself, I know all about the challenges people face when trying to improve their skills. For this reason, I ensure that there is a comfortable atmosphere in my classes, where my students are not afraid to make mistakes. It's important to be able to laugh while learning, and to keep your motivation high, so I teach lessons using lots of different activities and topics. Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.
