I have been playing the kopuz since childhood and have spent many years performing as a professional musician. To refine my technique and deepen my understanding of this ancient, mystical instrument, I had the privilege of attending masterclasses with the legendary master musician Erkan Oğur. Today, combining my 25 years of teaching experience with my professional background, I am passionate about passing this deep musical heritage on to my students. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, I tailor my teaching to your unique pace. Thanks to my custom-built analog home studio, you will experience crystal-clear audio quality during our online sessions, ensuring you hear every subtle nuance. What We Will Cover in Our Lessons: Fundamental & Advanced Techniques: Mastering arpeggios, slurs (hammer-ons and pull-offs), and precise right/left-hand articulation. Microtones & Maqam Theory: Understanding the commas and microtonal structures unique to Anatolian and Eastern music. The Art of Improvisation: Developing your own musical voice through structured improvisation and traditional phrasing. Harmony Applications: Integrating traditional melodies with broader harmonic concepts. Alternate Tunings (Düzenler): Exploring different tunings to unlock the full acoustic potential of the kopuz. Repertoire Building: Progressing from foundational traditional pieces to complex, advanced compositions step-by-step.

Whether you're picking up the guitar for the first time, returning to playing as an adult, or building on skills you already have, my lessons focus on helping you develop a strong musical foundation, build confidence, and play real songs you enjoy. Many people begin learning guitar by memorizing a few chords or songs, but understanding how music works makes it much easier to keep progressing. In my lessons, I'll guide you step-by-step, so they develop the skills and knowledge you need to learn new songs independently over time. Through practical, song-based learning, you'll develop essential skills like chords, rhythm, technique, and musical understanding. Each lesson is personalized to your goals, interests, and learning pace. I'm also passionate about helping families connect through music! I offer family guitar lessons for parents and children, as well as siblings who want to learn guitar together. Whether you're all complete beginners or have different levels of experience, we'll build skills step by step and learn to play guitar together. My goal is to help your family make music a fun, shared experience while growing in confidence and musical ability. I believe learning music should be both rewarding and enjoyable. I'll meet you where you are, encourage you through challenges, and celebrate your progress in a supportive environment where you feel comfortable learning, experimenting, and making mistakes.
