As a former professional musician, I offer private piano lessons. My specialty lies in teaching jazz, blues and improvised music. However, I also work with classical music and all other styles, depending on the objectives of my students. My pedagogical approach is based on a natural method of learning music. I focus my teaching on the transmission of technical skills necessary for piano and music theory. It begins with the interpretation of an instrumental or accompaniment piece, then opens the way to improvisation and composition. Generally, I divide the course into two parts (for a duration of one hour): The first 15 minutes are dedicated to a specific technical question: scale exercises, sight reading, key reading, solmization, harmony, analysis, etc. The rest of the session is devoted to the interpretation and work on one or more pieces chosen in agreement with the student.
