Jamie - Battersea£41
Trusted teacher: Hi students and music lovers ! Piano is a fun and rewarding way to explore music for people of all ages, whether you've played music before or not, and is one of the most accessible instruments right from the first lesson! I teach with a variety of pop-transcriptions and easy Classical pieces, simple improvisation and harmony exercises, and am comfortable adapting to each pupils own way of learning. If you're new to piano, or have played before and want to rekindle your love of music, get in touch to arrange a first lesson! I will book us a room with a grand piano at the Academy. I graduated Master’s cum laude in Piano Performance at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre studying with prof. Peep Lassmann, who was himself a student of the great Russian pianist Emil Gilels. I have 12 years' private teaching experience, and was employed by Märjamaa Music and Art School as a 1:1 piano teacher in 2018-19. I also have a BMus (Hons) degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and DipABRSM, the standard professional teaching qualification in the UK. Reviews from current students: "Jamie is an amazing teacher. I had no knowledge of piano before him and was worried in general of being able to learn. His way of explaining, patience and incredible passion for music gave me the push to try and are reinforcing my motivation to learn more day-by-day. Our classes are alive, fun, and so much like a continuous journey through all the aspects of piano music." - Angelyk "Jamie makes this comfortable atmosphere, you'll never be afraid to make a mistake. I learned a song already in my second/third lesson. 🙂 " - Taimi

My name is Milly, and I am a piano teacher and musician based in Glasgow. I am a recent graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where I studied piano performance. I have been playing piano for over 16 years, attending the Aberdeen City Music School before studying at the RCS here in Glasgow. For the last 5 years I have been gaining experience teaching piano to students of various ages and abilities, and in the last year – teaching music online! I am confident with teaching various musical styles from contemporary to classical. I endeavor to create bespoke lessons that are fun and engaging, whilst building musical skills, confidence and independence. I can accommodate absolute beginners to ABRSM grade 8 and beyond; and can provide lessons in music theory and help you prepare for exams and auditions if necessary. I am currently employed by the HEMEC music school in London, where I teach online group and private lessons with great success. For my personal students, I also host a free weekly performance class to help build listening and performance skills. Get in touch if you would like to come along to see how I teach! I currently offering online lessons via zoom, and in-person lessons from April 26th at my home, where I have an acoustic upright piano. I recommend beginners start with 30-minute lessons, and intermediate to advance students receive 45 or 60-minute sessions. I also offer 15-minute lessons for children under age 5, to start them off with bite-sized music tuition.

I always encourage my students to practice no matter if they are learning for hobby or for possible future studies. I always adjust my lessons to the needs of the student. I teach grades when students when to give their exams. I also encourage the Suzuki method as I believe it has a wide range of knowledge and repertoire and builds a strong musicianship. If the level of some students is higher and they are interested in studying music, I will try teach more like a conservatoire method, using piano repertoire only, studies if need to, to help the student build up her/his pianistic and musical skills at the best. I always try to give feedback to my students about their work within a specific period and also I often ask them their opinion on a new suggestion of a piece or idea I might have. Mainly I do that to understand what each student needs and wants to learn and accordingly make my plan of the lessons. When I see a student is more independent, musically, I give them choices between pieces and give them tasks to decide on their own. In my teaching methods I include online tutoring. I started teaching online when I moved outside London and kept some of my teaching. It is a very different approach but a very fun one too. Especially at these times we are right now, I find significant to keep sharing our knowledge with young children. It is important to keep inspiring people and especially young kids with music. That way we encourage each other that life will soon get better and the situation shouldn't let affect our lives.

Pooja
Hi My son had attended few weeks ( one / two sessions per week) keyboard classes with Pooja. I am revising my ratings after these sessions. I am so happy with the progress my son has made in keyboard in such a short notice. Pooja's dedicated approach & Notes/ homework after every class really helps the students. I would recommend her classes. Thanks Sajith
