Piano Lessons for Beginner and Intermediate StudentsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hi! My name is Nancy and I am currently studying BMus Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I teach Piano lessons for both beginner and intermediate learners, across a wide variety of styles, from Classical, to Jazz, to Pop! I aim to create a fun and engaging environment for students to learn Piano, and prioritise flexibility, so students can choose their own learning path based on their individual aims and interests. I understand that as players become more confident and immersed in playing Piano, their interests change, and so, I try to introduce students to a range of music and topics. I have a lot of experience with the ABRSM performance exam board, and I am happy to work towards graded music exams if the student wishes. I can also point students towards opportunities to perform and showcase their work in front of audiences, if this is something which they are interested in. Alongside my Undergraduate studies in Music, I have ABRSM Grade 8 in both Piano Performance, and also in Music Theory. I also have passed ABRSM grades in other instruments, e.g. Trumpet, Singing, Drums, and Tuned Percussion. My degree is in Music Composition, therefore I have experience writing my own music in a variety of styles, and have worked alongside musicians and ensembles throughout Scotland, and overseas.

You will learn how to play the piano or hone your existing skills. Do you want to play your favorite songs and impress your friends? Learn to disassemble complex compositions on your own? Or prepare for admission? We will focus on those aspects that will lead you to the goal as quickly and efficiently as possible. You can take lessons even if: - Never played music before; - You do not know musical notation and are not familiar with the technique of playing the instrument; - Think it's too late for you to learn. Depending on your goals, there will be less or more theory in the course. We will select exercises for you to develop your pianistic technique. What will you learn: 1) Learn to play with two hands: You will immediately learn to play with two hands, and after a few lessons you will see that it is not as difficult as it seems. 2) You will be able to play compositions from memory: You will be able to show off your piano playing skills to your friends in a month, in the classroom you will learn compositions that you are interested in playing. 3) Learn to read music: Music will no longer be an unknown language for you. You will see how all these incomprehensible symbols easily turn into a melody. 4) Develop a sense of rhythm: Practicing the piano develops a sense of rhythm - you can better feel the music. 5) Become happier and more musical: You will be able to express your feelings in a new way. And you will also hear music in a new way - you will be able to distinguish previously imperceptible details in familiar compositions. 6) You will be able to disassemble the compositions yourself: You will be able to disassemble the notes yourself and learn the composition you like. Place the right accents and play it.

Piano, Music for beginners or not. Grade exams prep.Translate this text using Google Translate.

I always encourage my students to practice no matter if they are learning for hobby or for possible future studies. I always adjust my lessons to the needs of the student. I teach grades when students when to give their exams. I also encourage the Suzuki method as I believe it has a wide range of knowledge and repertoire and builds a strong musicianship. If the level of some students is higher and they are interested in studying music, I will try teach more like a conservatoire method, using piano repertoire only, studies if need to, to help the student build up her/his pianistic and musical skills at the best. I always try to give feedback to my students about their work within a specific period and also I often ask them their opinion on a new suggestion of a piece or idea I might have. Mainly I do that to understand what each student needs and wants to learn and accordingly make my plan of the lessons. When I see a student is more independent, musically, I give them choices between pieces and give them tasks to decide on their own. In my teaching methods I include online tutoring. I started teaching online when I moved outside London and kept some of my teaching. It is a very different approach but a very fun one too. Especially at these times we are right now, I find significant to keep sharing our knowledge with young children. It is important to keep inspiring people and especially young kids with music. That way we encourage each other that life will soon get better and the situation shouldn't let affect our lives.
