Then, I design the course based on the material used in class, but I vary the examples and exercises to give you clear explanations. I use concrete examples from everyday life: yes, creativity is possible in science, and often information can be rephrased in cool ways! In summary: I adapt to your level, needs, and preferences. And above all, we work at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere! I work online with Zoom and messenger. The student does the exercises with me or follows the examples on the screen. I share a whiteboard. At the end of the course, I send the pdf of our work. About me: Eleven years of experience in teaching: Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and other scientific subjects (From 8th grade (Swiss), like 10 years old, (college/ gymnasium), to 1st-year university). I graduated from EPFL in Physics and did my Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Geneva. I have a career in research, and I love teaching. I have also done science popularization, and I am a diving instructor. After traveling for two years, during which I did volunteer work, I became convinced that teaching was my calling. Trusted teacher: Hi, My name is Katarina Viktoria and I am a multi-cultured music student. I was born in Latvia to a Ukrainian/Russian mother and a Swedish father. At the age of 3 we moved to Switzerland where I grew up in a German and Swiss German environment and these two languages became native to me. During my life in Switzerland we moved to the US for a year where I learned English and went to primary school. Later in life I moved to the Netherlands to study Classical Voice at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. I grew up in a big family with lots of kids (I have 9 siblings), I know how to communicate with kids of various ages and how to teach them in a playful matter. I love cpommunicating with people, which is also the base of my classes. How I build up my classes always depends on my student’s wishes, whether it’s the wish to improve their communication skills or to work on their grammar. I try to make my lessons as interesting as possible, using different exercises to playfully learn the language. I always aim for variations, we speak, we write, we read and we listen. I can also give homework and correct it, if that’s what the student wants. If the wish is only to communicate and to improve the pronounciation, that’s also fine by me. I love helping and supporting people in becoming their best version, so whatever makes you happy makes me happy :) I love seeing my students improve, it motivates me to go on and support them in their language skills even more!

It is such a pleasure to learn French from Cécile! The lessons are tailor fit to your needs, interests and learning style. She challenges you every time with texts that broaden your vocabulary and deepen your understanding of the French language and culture. Cécile is also funny and caring, which is a plus when you are learning something difficult. While learning another language can feel overwhelming, she is always patient and encouraging.
