Trusted teacher: A native Arabic speaker and lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences since 1994, he offers Arabic courses and private Arabic lessons nationwide for all levels: beginners, advanced, and conversation for professionals. He offers everyday Arabic, standard Arabic, media Arabic, and specialized Arabic, including business Arabic, as well as several dialects: Egyptian, Gulf States Arabic, Jordanian, Lebanese Arabic, Palestinian Arabic, and Syriac Arabic. Other dialects are available upon request. Participants in this course will have a command of at least 1,500 words of everyday language, both spoken and written (levels A2-B1) and will be able to conjugate simple, three-syllable verbs (so-called strong verbs) in the present, past, future, and imperative tenses, and read non-vocalized texts. Course content: This is media Arabic, meaning the language used on the internet, in newspapers, magazines, radio, film, in educational institutions such as schools and universities, and in official announcements. This applies from Mauritania/Morocco in the west across the eastern Mediterranean to Oman in the southeast. The lecturer has created his own scripts for the courses, which are not included in the course price. I currently teach several adults and numerous younger students. I specialize in students who have recently moved to the Netherlands and have little to no experience with English. I apply a hybrid method of ESL and school curriculum. After working for four years as a private tutor in Amsterdam for numerous international families, I have discovered a love for teaching Adult ESL. My goal is to not only to teach ESL tailored to life in the Netherlands, but to also offer advice and support to expat adults around life in Amsterdam. I currently work with the parents of many of my students who wish to improve their English. I am a former primary school teacher (International School of Choueifat-Dubai) who now works exclusively as a private tutor. My students are mainly expats, though I also do have several local Dutch students. Having moved around quite a bit, I understand the stress families undergo adapting to a new school system. After four year in Amsterdam, I also now understand the unique stress parents also endure adapting to Dutch culture and regular use of the English language. My teaching methods focus on improving Adult ESL that is tailored specifically to life in the Netherlands. I design my teaching plans, with my students, to cover the most essential aspects of English that are needed to navigate life in Amsterdam. Moreover, I have a deep understanding of how English in the Netherlands differs from conversational English in other countries. I have a grasp of the nuances of both languages and the areas which pose particular difficulty. I really enjoy the motivation of my adult students and the unique friendships I have formed through teaching. I know how isolated some parents who are neither native English nor Dutch speakers feel when moving to Amsterdam. Then, I design the course based on the material used in class, but I vary the examples and exercises to give you clear explanations. I use concrete examples from everyday life: yes, creativity is possible in science, and often information can be rephrased in cool ways! In summary: I adapt to your level, needs, and preferences. And above all, we work at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere! I work online with Zoom and messenger. The student does the exercises with me or follows the examples on the screen. I share a whiteboard. At the end of the course, I send the pdf of our work. About me: Eleven years of experience in teaching: Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and other scientific subjects (From 8th grade (Swiss), like 10 years old, (college/ gymnasium), to 1st-year university). We had our first session a few days ago, with Alessandra tutoring my 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter, developing their reading and writing in English and their mathematics. Alessandra's previous experience as a teacher certainly shines through, as she definitely seems to know how children of this age learn. She provided original and exciting activities for the kids and they found it great fun; they are looking forward to seeing her again next week. Alessandra was professional to work with and I can definitely recommend her.

I am incredibly grateful to have such a kind and thoughtful teacher. She always goes out of her way to help, and one of the things that stands out is how flexible she is in adapting to my needs. For example, she recently asked me how best to write Latin pronunciations so they would be clear to me, which shows how much effort she puts into ensuring everyone understands.
