Chemistry (IB, A-Level, GCSE), Maths (GCSE), EnglishTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hey there! I am Laura and I am a graduate Chemical Engineer working in engineering consultancy company Worley in London. I am currently studying in Hong Business school, so I’m keen to tutor local students. I am really passionate about Science and I am willing to share my knowledge through tutoring. I worked as an online tutor for more than 4 years in one of the UK's top online tuition websites. During this time, I've delivered more than 1600 lessons and received positive feedback (please see picture below). I have also worked as a self-employed Chemistry & Maths tutor for a year and thought British and international students from all over the world. I have experience with AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC exam boards and IB programme. In my tutorials, student will be in control of what we cover during the session. We will talk through problems the student is having or questions (s)he wants to ask. I will use a range of different techniques, such as diagrams, summaries, analogies, which will help student memorise concepts easier. Once we looked through the theory, we will try to solve past exam questions. This will let student see the application of theory. I aim to create an environment in which any question can be asked and mistakes can be corrected. I am excited to meet you and help you achieve your full potential!

Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacherTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacherTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years. The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies. I have a thorough knowledge of the mathematics curriculum for middle and high school (from 6th to 12th grade). I am also qualified to support students in preparing for international exams such as the SAT, the OMPT, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) in all its variations: Analysis and Approaches (AA SL/HL) and Applications and Interpretation (AI SL/HL). Throughout my years of training, I studied and developed numerous techniques that facilitate learning mathematics. The strength of my teaching approach lies in my ability to explain, in simple terms, anything a student finds complicated. I am passionate about this profession because it offers me the opportunity to guide struggling students toward success. It is a true pleasure to see them progress and rediscover their connection with the fascinating world of mathematics. I offer private tutoring in Paris (at the student's home) or remotely (online). My online lessons take place on an interactive whiteboard. This whiteboard is specifically designed to facilitate student/teacher interaction online. Thanks to this teaching tool, my online lessons are just as effective as in-person lessons. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to participate.

Here's what you can anticipate from my tutoring sessions Personalised Learning: Every learner is unique, and I believe in tailoring my teaching methods to suit each student's individual needs. I don't judge; instead, I concentrate on understanding their strengths and areas for improvement to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Concept Breakdown: I dissect complex topics into simpler, more manageable parts, making it easier for students to grasp challenging concepts and build a strong foundation in Physics and Science. Student-Centred Approach: I enjoy teaching students and continually strive to ignite their curiosity and passion for learning. I aim to make each lesson engaging and enjoyable, helping students recognise the real-world applications of what they learn. Shared Strategies: As a student who has successfully qualified for the Engineering Entrance exam test and is currently studying abroad on a fully funded scholarship, I bring my own learning strategies and study techniques to the table. These proven methods will help students achieve their academic goals. Continuous Improvement: I am always learning and growing, just like my students. This continuous improvement mindset, which I actively promote, inspires and motivates students to strive for their best. It enables me to stay updated with the latest educational trends and techniques, ensuring that my students receive the best possible guidance. Supportive Environment: I encourage students to ask questions, no matter how trivial they might seem. By creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, I ensure that students feel comfortable and open to express their doubts and curiosities, leading to a deeper understanding of the subjects.

Baia was instrumental in helping my daughter prepare for the OMPT-F exam. From the very first lesson, she was organized, knowledgeable, and focused on the areas that mattered most for success on the test. What sets Baia apart is her ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a simple, structured way while building confidence at the same time. Her engineering background gives her a deep understanding of mathematics and allows her to explain not only how to solve problems, but also why the concepts work. She provided targeted practice materials, mock exams, and clear guidance on the key topics that carried the highest impact. Baia was always responsive to questions between lessons and consistently went above and beyond to ensure my daughter was fully prepared. Thanks to her support, my daughter developed a much stronger understanding of mathematics and a more positive attitude toward the subject. She now approaches challenging problems with far more confidence than before. I highly recommend Baia to anyone preparing for the OMPT exams, university mathematics, or looking for a patient, knowledgeable, and highly effective math tutor.

Benoit is friendly and patient and has a good sense of when to challenge and when to take a step back. My son, who is 8, really likes his lessons very much. He loves math, especially working with big numbers, and at school it isn't always possible to work on calculations as he would like. After few lessons he already learned new techniques for calculations he likes to experiment with and Benoit also managed to challenge him to try some new and more advanced things. I think this type of lessons is more tricky to prepare, at least until the teacher gets to know well the capacities and character of the child, as there are not based on the child's curriculum or homework to be done. Benoit is always open to discussion and if my son finds something too challenging, they take a step back and try another way or just agree to try another time when my son feels ready for it.

We are incredibly grateful to have found Prashil through Apprentus. He has been tutoring our son Floris, who is currently in Grade 10 at the International School of Utrecht and follows the HL Maths curriculum. Floris is highly gifted but also has dyslexia, which presents unique challenges in his learning process. Prashil has proven to be the perfect match for him. He is calm, patient, and adapts his teaching style to Floris’s needs in a way that builds both understanding and confidence. Prashil’s structured and thoughtful approach has made a significant difference, and Floris truly enjoys their lessons. We highly recommend Prashil to anyone looking for a skilled and empathetic math tutor.
