✨ What to expect?✨ 🌻 She is an experienced, patient and committed teacher and musician with a Bachelor’s degree on Jazz Piano and currently studying a masters in composition at HKB. 🌼 Different styles (jazz, classical, pop, world music...) 🌸 Personalized and tailored lessons for all ages and levels. 🌺 Technique, improvisation, harmony, composition, rhythm, music reading, accompaniment for singers... 🎶 What’s stopping you from mastering that song you love?🎶 ✏️TEACHING CONCEPT. ✏️ 💡 I like to approach music as a language. Just as we learn to speak by first listening, understanding, recognizing, and imitating words before learning to read and write them, I believe that musical learning should follow a similar path. That’s why I place strong emphasis on aural development, listening, and internalizing sound before focusing on notation. 💡 My teaching is based on experience, intuition, and exploration. I aim to create a space where each student feels free to play, discover, and express themselves, encouraging them to follow their own curiosity and find personal meaning in music. 💡 I always adapt to the needs and goals of each student. Some come with a clear desire to study classical repertoire, and in those cases I introduce reading and technical work from the beginning — but always in a way that connects with the music’s expressive and structural elements, not just as abstract exercises. I believe analysis, understanding, and creativity can go hand in hand with solid technical and reading skills. Others want to accompany themselves while singing, or ask for tools to help them create and develop their own musical ideas. I enjoy guiding each of them through these different paths, offering a wide range of resources and approaches. 💡 I also pay close attention to each student’s musical interests when choosing repertoire. Whether they’re drawn to classical, pop, jazz, or music from games or films, I believe it’s possible to build strong musical foundations by working with music they connect with. No matter the style, we can explore technical, rhythmic, harmonic, and expressive aspects that will contribute to their overall development and motivation. ✨My goal is to nurture a deep, joyful, and personal relationship with music in every student, regardless of age, level, or background.✨

Piano Lessons in Classical and Contemporary Styles for Beginning-Advanced Levels (ages 6 and up)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Classical and modern cello classes in BarcelonaTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hello! I've been teaching continuously for over 10 years, and I'd like to explain what you can expect from a class with me. Personalized approach: The most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I will tailor the lessons to your needs: playing for pleasure at home is not the same as preparing for entrance exams (although always with the same rigor). Your goals will influence the methodology, the organization of your studies, the repertoire, and so on. Relaxed (but rigorous) environment: Once you've defined your goals, classes will be dynamic and pressure-free. Note! "Relaxed" doesn't mean undemanding; we'll just avoid military methods—especially given my personality and sense of humor. Music, not just notes: My methods are very dynamic, with a special emphasis on hearing and musicality. No "read, play, and turn the page." I avoid approaches obsessed with reading sheet music without memorizing, listening, or understanding what is being played. I want you to own your performance and make artistic decisions. Warning! I might even make you sing. No stylistic barriers: Thanks to my training in Jazz and Modern Music, I give equal importance to all genres. Adapting to your tastes, we'll go from baroque to blues, from Haydn to bebop... or even Michael Jackson. Why not? If you identify with this approach, contact me! Learning the cello is a pleasure, and I'd love to share it with you!

I started my lessons with Giorgia four months ago, and I am so glad to have found her. As a 26-year-old beginner, I was not sure if I should even try to pursue learning an instrument at this point. But now I am so glad I did! I am learning online, and I was a little unsure of how lessons via webcam would go. Despite my prejudice, everything turned out great, even though my setup is quite basic. Her approach to teaching is very creative. She is able to explain things that seem hard to put into words, and she always finds comparisons and descriptions that convey clearly little details of approach that make a lot of difference in the end result. For any difficulty I encountered, she presented methods of exercise that helped correct it. Another thing that I appreciate is that from one lesson to the next, the volume of work is challenging enough that I feel I am making progress, but not to the point that I am overwhelmed. Also, even though I am just beginning and the pieces are not that complex, she explains the musical interpretation in a way that not only helps me advance my skill but also enriches the way I understand and listen to music, and I find great value in that. Her manner of teaching is very organic, and she is a patient teacher with a warm presence. I wholeheartedly recommend her lessons!

It was a pleasure studying classical piano with Xiang and i recommend him as a teacher for piano. Xiang gave me guidance on hand relaxation, horizontal movements, rhytm and other ways of practicing, scales tips, pedalling, fingering and general tips. over few months of (bi)weekly lessons, he gave me guidance on few Czerny pieces and Chopin etude 12 op 10. Xiang can “sight read” some Chopin etudes at the speed that takes me several week to practice, this was amazing and inspiring to observe!:)

I had my first lesson today and I was immediately struck with the feeling that I am in the presence of a maestro in Piano playing, a professor in teaching and an extremely patient pedagogue. It was like Lydia knew me for years and instantaneously detected my strengths and my weaknesses in my piano playing and practice. I am an adult student and I highly recommend Lydia for all ages and all levels. An exceptional teacher that provides and exceptional lesson experience.
