Happy students = happy me. 'Ondrej is excellent at setting the right goal posts for your level: challenging, but not so challenging as to be discouraging. He has a discerning eye and ear and knows how to direct his advice to see immediate results.' - Lauren (student) - 10+ years experience – private & school teaching - Lessons catered to your needs and wants - Individual attention - Taught ages 5-60 - Beginner to professional - Individual & group lessons - Experience teaching students with dyslexia, helping students with injury - Student success: o graded exams o music scholarships o admittance to music colleges o playing their favourite pieces - Flexible lesson times (including weekends and evenings) - All are welcome! One of the parts of teaching I most enjoy is the variety of my students’ backgrounds and finding an individual approach that works best for each student. I always do my best to create a supportive, stress-free environment so that the students can have a really fun time learning, while encouraging them to expand their capabilities at a pace that suits them best.

If you are starting from scratch or are a beginner, I can teach you guitar while having fun in a relaxed atmosphere and learning to play your favourite songs. We can play both acoustic and electric guitar, and our goal will be to reach the level where you can have a blast playing along to your favourite music.

An ex-professional musician with 25 years experience teaching hundreds of children guitar, I am also a qualified primary school teacher with a British degree and several years experience. Privately I have taught chldren from the ages of 7 upwards, and several adults. Two of the children I taught some years ago I'm still in touch with and they are now pursuing degrees and careers in music. I am an expert at engaging children (and adults, when they have the time to practise!) in the guitar and making their learning fun so that they can start playing recognisable tunes quckly, and progress to advanced skill confidently. I encourage good technique fro the start so that the pupil doesn't have to 'unlearn' a skill and learn it properly in the future. My approach also teaches musical theory (reading music) simultaneously, so that a pupil can change between instruments at a later date. I do NOT use guitar TAB, which is for guitar only, because it limits the child to the one instrument. My approach is also flexible, meaning that the pupil can gravitate towards whatever style they like with me.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Do you have trouble reading music? Do you love listening to music, but don't understand time signatures, keys or chords? Music theory often sounds abstract, but with the right explanation and concrete examples it suddenly becomes a lot more logical, and even fun :) For whom? - Beginner or advanced musicians who want to better understand what they are doing. - Students preparing for music theory exams (e.g. music school, entrance exams). - Independent artists/producers who want to deepen their musical knowledge. - Anyone who is curious about the language behind music. What can you expect? - Clear explanation, at your own pace. - Theory made immediately applicable with examples on the piano. - Extra attention to insight instead of learning dry rules by heart. - Tutoring fully tailored to your level and goal (classical, pop, songwriting, production, ...). About me I obtained a Grade 8 diploma in Music Theory and also a Grade 8 Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I hold a diploma in Audio Engineering from Hofa College. I am active as a music artist and producer myself. Thanks to this combination of classical training and practical experience, I know how important it is to make theory understandable, concrete, and musical. I use my own piano during lessons to clarify everything visually and audibly. Possible topics: - Learn to read music. - Scales, chords & harmony. - Form and analysis (classical, jazz or pop). - Rhythm, time signatures & tempo. - Music theory for producers/songwriters. - Songwriting. - Preparation for exams or entrance tests. Practical - 1-on-1 lessons, online or live (if you don't live too far away). - I provide materials, or we work with what you need. - No prior knowledge required. Lessons adapted to your level. 🎶 Feel free to send me a message with your questions or goals. We'll see how I can best help you.
