Drumming is a powerful experience for all ages and music levels even if you play a melodic instrument. I have designed a learning programme suitable for a wide variety of music needs and aims. I have a long experience teaching, performing, recording and producing music that have let me explore melodic instruments like keyboards, guitar, and bass. It has given to me a broad musical approach to the drums with a ensemble situation perspective. This class is for drummers who want to be part of a music project or want to improve their ensemble music skils. All the levels. Children from 7 to 80 welcome.

Hello, my name is Beibei, I have 10 years experience of performing as concert percussionist working with orchestras, schools, universities and curating my own project as well as extensive teaching experience, from large group workshops to 1:1 tuition. My aim is to make sure each of my pupils are well versed in all musical genres from classical to contemporary. We will have a focus on a certain style and work by playing along to bands and recordings to help improve the listening side of music. We will also work on technical exercises to ensure the growth as a great musician. I can also offer examinations, working towards graded exams can be useful for many people to get an understanding of progress and achievement when moving up to the next level. Lessons will be fun and there will be lots of chance for creativity and improvisation if desired. My approach to teaching drums, percussion and piano is focused on developing a strong understanding of rhythm, phrase, scales in general and applying it on playing. I will customise my teaching approach to your needs, depending on the level of your playing and your musical desires. I'll give my best in each lesson to guide you step-by-step into becoming a better musician/drummer. Methodology I base my teaching what the student wants to learn and also through years of teaching and learning I can help guide you on this path. Techniques, phrase development, solo, accompaniment, odd rhythms and creation of your own sound. We will cover traditional rhythms from Turkey, the Balkans, Egypt. I can teach darbuka and bendir from beginner to advanced level. Riq, indian tabla, konnakol, cajon, daf, indian tabla and percussion set ups can also be taught A bit about me: I have been playing oriental percussion professionally since 2010 with many groups and touring all over the world and I've recorded albums for groups such as Light in Babylon.
