Julie - Paris, France£52
Trusted teacher: Nice to meet you! I am Julie, a private piano teacher since 2019 for beginners to cycle II. Currently I have 12 students, adults, teenagers and children from 4 years old! My goal is for my students to learn the piano while having fun, so that they become independent over time and can enjoy playing what they like. This is why I listen to everyone's tastes, while opening doors to registers that might not be those immediately thought of (classical, jazz, singing accompaniment, etc.). Also, music theory is a key point of learning that cannot be ignored if you want to progress. But knowing that it can scare more than one, I would like to point out that I do this in a very fun way by adapting to the level of capacity and age of each person: this therefore involves pieces, songs, and for the youngest, games that I make myself (memory, tables, human-sized mats, card games, writing, etc.). This allows us to suit everyone, and learning through all the senses (writing, listening, movement, memorization, etc.) is, in my opinion, a very relevant means. If the student likes singing, I also offer singing lessons and I teach them how to accompany themselves, so that they can ultimately accompany themselves on all the songs and have a lot of fun. My lessons last 1 hour, whether the student is an adult or a child. I can possibly teach at my home if necessary, but I usually go to the student's home. Also, the piano is a rather solo instrument. But loving sharing and conviviality, I offer in addition to solo pieces, pieces in 4 hands between students by level (which is in my opinion very beneficial from a technical and learning point of view). Finally, 2 auditions per year are planned in a nice room that I reserve with a beautiful grand piano, during which the students sing and play their solo and 4-hand pieces in front of their loved ones. These moments are really friendly and without pressure or expectations from me: snacks, music, laughter and sharing are in the spotlight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate! See you soon, I hope :) Julie

Trusted teacher: My in-home piano lessons follow a solid method forged by extensive teaching experience. I strive to tailor your journey to your dreams: mastering the classics from Haydn to Liszt, simply accompanying your voice, jazz/blues improvisation, etc. By default, my method is structured in two distinct parts addressed together or separately: - CLASSICAL PIANO: the teaching method adopted here corresponds to that provided at the conservatory. Music scores have a fundamental importance. This requires learning music theory using several supports: one dedicated to reading notes in isolation, an application also dedicated to this work and a practical manual. Technique is also important for the good practice of classical music pieces, which is why you follow a whole progression of exercises designed to make you work on articulation, velocity, precision of touch. If the classical repertoire is demanding and rich, we can also play more popular music: films, video games, variety, ... PIANO JAZZ/BLUES/POP/VARIETY We work to make you a proactive player in your musical journey. This generally comes after a classical piano course. However, not everyone necessarily has the time or the desire to achieve excellence, especially for adult beginners or even more advanced players. You choose the music covered and develop your ear and your knowledge of the keyboard (simple concepts of harmony at the same time). The repertoire corresponds to current music. We can even move towards improvisation and improvement in this area for students already introduced to jazz or bues in particular. Intimidating and then quickly liberating, this approach allows you to develop a creative and personal musical practice. You are then able to improvise, compose, or even play with other musicians. This approach is based around 4 main axes.

Trusted teacher: Hi! I’m Paloma, I’m a film and videogame music composer, pianist and violist. I give classes in music language, music theory, harmony, and composition from classical to film, piano, and viola. My students are any age, any level from beginner to advanced. I will help with exams, GCSE, and A-Levels, as well as help students obtain their grade 5 theory to advance and take higher grades in composition or viola. I started teaching when I was 17 years old. While I was studying viola and composition I would help colleagues learn Harmonic Theory for University exams or just for fun. Whilst studying, in order to support my learning abroad, I started teaching children and teenagers. The classes included a wide variety, from; supporting their studies during the school year, to their first approaches to music as well as nurturing love and excitement for playing and making music. After University I continued giving classes during the last few years. The compositional strand of training if a student wishes to undergo it has many elements we will learn the theory needed to competently make music learn systems that allow us to break down composition as well as multiple genres. work they can do by themselves at their own pace, allowing each student to work and grow at a rate suited to their ability. -Building a strong understanding of melodies and chords and how different instruments work and support each other. -If they are studying in a formal educational establishment, they will receive support and guidance in regard to their work and exams. When I am giving classes in music language, viola, piano... to children, I always try that the classes will be dynamic but at the same time incorporate a little bit of Theory. I utilised exercises that are designed to engage young developmental minds, like those you’d find on a children’s show. For example, singing, playing... songs allows us to train the ears and help them to begin to recognise the different registers, notes, rhythms and tempo. This was done alongside training on their chosen instruments, my aim was and is to nurture a language of music as well as give them practical skills and exercises they can do on their own. I play the piano and viola, so I always try to support them. When it comes to classes for teenagers I teach them theory and practice as well as strong fundamentals but I also allow time to let them lead their learning to give them more agency, allow them to learn their favourite /contemporary songs. This keeps the passion for music alive. With teenagers, my approach centres on elevating and reinforcing what they learn from school using exercises and providing tools to break down ideas musically. In addition, I also prepare for GCSE and A-levels. Lessons will follow a path of progression, teaching them how to approach the next levels of theoretical and practical competence. Allowing the students to understand their Progression and their path forward increases the likelihood they will continue studying. Lessons are flexible, and curated on a student-to-student basis as well as making sure to incorporate what I believe they need to achieve the next level. This involves; practical music training, ear training, building on theoretical knowledge, as well as learning songs they love to ensure they feel fulfilled and have fun with music.

Trusted teacher: Dear parents and students, welcome to my profile! I am a professional opera singer who has performed in theatres and concerts in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Romania, and Hong Kong, has won international vocal competitions, been an adjudicator in vocal competitions, and given vocal masterclasses in secondary schools. Currently, I am an official singing and piano teacher at an arts school in London, where my classes are always fully booked. I have always enjoyed teaching and can teach a wide range of repertoire in English, German, French and Italian. My lessons are mostly in English, but of course I can teach in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese too. As a private singing teacher, all my students have won local and international competitions, and obtained excellent results in their exams. Some of them even decided to choose music and opera as their future careers. Although I am based in the UK at the moment, I still would love to help students who like to learn opera and classical singing in Hong Kong. Do not worry, I am experienced in giving online classes and you will not feel distant from me. You will enjoy my classes. Yet, I see many more responsibilities being a teacher. Besides sharing knowledge and experience with my students, I am also the person who: - enlightens my students through their journey of music; - my students can rely on and talk to; - influences them to embrace differences and be kind; - makes them aware of their values and proud of themselves. I want to be my students' friend and teach them with a humble and empathetic heart. My students like sharing their stories and ideas with me outside the lessons, sometimes about books, sometimes about philosophy, sometimes about the world, sometimes about the industry, sometimes about anything in life. I always make time for my students. Besides singing, I have been a pianist and piano teacher for 13 years. I was usually the accompanist for my students in their competitions and exams. I am based in the UK at the moment, but I will arrange good accompanists for my students. If I can fly back to Hong Kong when my students take their exams and perform in their competitions, I will accompany them by myself. My qualifications are as follows: The Chinese University of Hong Kong Bachelor of Arts (Music) Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel Master of Music (Classical Singing) Postgraduate in Classical Singing Licentiate Trinity College London Vocal Performance 97/100 Distinction Licentiate Trinity College London Piano Performance 90/100 Distinction DipABRSM Piano ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory Please feel free to contact me and let me know what you want to learn and achieve! Have a super lovely day!:)
