Trusted teacher: < Learning Piano is not merely about playing the piano > Before starting to learn the piano, it’s essential to recognize that : '' What we are actually learning is "Music", but not only "Piano". '' The goal of learning any instrument is to acquire the language of music, enabling us to express ourselves and enjoy music with others. Playing the piano is for creating beautiful sounds, not really for developing finger speed or strength. That’s the function of gym. < Music is like cooking > When we cook, to make roast beef tender, of course, it’s nice to have a tender heart, but without knowing how to control the temperature, the roast beef won’t become tender merely by our tender heart. By only adding salt, the dish won’t be sweet. Similarly, simply playing or writing a C major triad chord won’t convey a sorrowful feeling. To create the feeling we want, no matter how much sentiment we have in our hearts, to convey it via music, it needs to be translated into the language which the piano can understand, which means, how we press and lift the keys and pedals. Similarly, when we compose, it needs to be transferred into chords, and notes we write. < Difference between an audience and a musician > There is a common belief that a musician can make music with sentiment or feeling. While it’s partially true, the most essential thing is knowing ‘’How’’ to create the sound that conveys the feeling we want, rather than merely knowing ‘’What’' feeling we want to convey. The understanding of the mechanism behind music is essential, as cooking, and that is the difference between an audience and a musician. As an audience, one can simply feel the music. Like a chief who knows how to create a specific flavor to convey, a musician knows how to create the sound which can convey the feeling we want. While knowing which feeling we want is great, it’s merely the first step. Your emotions are not too different from Chopin, Beethoven, Adele or Taylor Swift, otherwise, they can’t resonate with you. But they know how to create the sound that conveys the feeling they want to their audience. < Course Content > I consider my course to be a form of "Music Consultation" because it contains a wide range of subjects that are essential to a professional musician. While we focus on piano playing, there are also music theory, music history, instrument construction, ergonomics for performers, analysis of composer styles, composition, arrangement, recording, MIDI, computer music, the physics of sound, and more. In avoid of confusion, let’s still call my course as "Piano Course”. < Duration > For each course, I will reserve at least 70 minutes in my schedule for you, including 60 minutes of class time and an additional 10 minutes for discussion and any questions you may have. This will ensure that your courses are not rushed by the next student. This ensures that there is enough time for you to solve your piano and music problems. < Recording > I highly encourage my students to record their progress. This can provide an objective standard for comparison and help you analyze your playing precisely. In my nine years of experience teaching music, I've found many students, including those advanced, already play certain sections very well, while other sections may not be not well enough. But they still try to improving those fine sections, while not aware of those weak sections. Without an objective reference, it’s hard to distribute our effort precisely. This can lead to not only unstable performance, but also practicing without a precise goal can easily reduce enthusiasm. Recording your results and comparing them with those recordings you like on YouTube or Spotify can be an effective way to analyze your playing and set precise goals. If you have a digital piano, I can help you produce a video of your performance for each session. This can be a tangible record of your efforts and you can share it with your friends and family via YouTube or other platforms.

Trusted teacher: 👂 My motto for teaching music: Learn with your ear, before understanding it with your brain. Music can be explained entirely from a theoretical point of view 🤯. But I'm convinced that the best approach is to feel and sing the music 🎤💖, before understanding and interpreting it theoretically. I teach music theory intuitively 💫. More than just a way of reading sheet music, I can show you how to deconstruct a piece of music in any genre, how to interpret chords, and how to improvise simply and effectively. ♯♭♮ About me: • playing the piano for >30 years 🎹 • studied classical music & jazz for 13 years in music schools 🧑🏻‍🏫 • played in a variety of bands, including classical music, jazz, blues, Latin music, rock, pop, cabaret, flamenco and electronic music • languages: 🇬🇧🇩🇪🇫🇷🇪🇸🇮🇹🇵🇹 👂 My motto for music lessons: Learn with your ear before you understand it with your head. Trusted teacher: -Dutch and videos below- Classes in 6 languages! With over 200 students in my entire life, over 500 concerts (mostly in Spain but also across Europe and some mini-tours in America), 15 CDs/EPs/singles released (as frontman, sideman and producer), a bachelor's degree in Jazz Guitar-Modern Music (Taller de Músics - Barcelona), a half-bachelor's degree in Jazz Piano (Conservatori del Liceu - Barcelona) and a long professional musical career behind me playing a ton of different styles (pop, rock, funk, metal, jazz, folk, rumba, reggae...), I came from Barcelona to Rotterdam to continue my musical journey by doing the Latin master's degree at Codarts. I have been working as a music teacher for about 12 years (I am 29 years old), giving private lessons and in different music schools, the most important being the "Escola de Música Creu Alta" in Sabadell (Barcelona), which is one of the largest music schools in Spain (with more than 900 students), in which I was responsible for the modern music department. I teach guitar (electric and classical), piano (electric and classical), composition, music production (with Logic Pro), ensemble and modern music theory AT ALL LEVELS, from 100% beginners to people who want to prepare for the Bachelor of Music. I can totally adapt to what the student wants and is looking for, but also, as I have a lot of experience, I have the classes well planned, I know which songs and exercises work best depending on the aspect we want to work on (tempo, chords, scales, sound, improvisation...) and when I see someone play, I can see in which aspects the person is strong, and in which aspects they have the most problems, this way you will not waste your time! In addition, I am a fun and very empathetic person, so we will have fun, which is the most important thing!! I speak 6 languages: Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Dutch and English, so we can do the lessons in any of these languages. Classes can take place at my home (Maashaven metro station) where I have a nice setup, online or at your home. -Dutch- Decrease in 6 talents! I have met more than 200 students in my ten years, more than 500 shows (in Spain, but also in Europe and two mini tours in America), 15 CDs/EPs/singles published (as leader, sideman and producer), a bachelor's degree in jazz-modern guitar (Taller de Músics - Barcelona), half-license in piano-jazz (Conservatori del Liceu - Barcelona) and a long career as a professional musician in various playing styles (pop, rock, funk, metal, jazz, folk, rumba, reggae. ..), well I came from Barcelona to Rotterdam to my musical tour to become a Latin master at Codarts. I have been working as a musician for 12 years (I am 29 years old), but I am deprived of learning as a comprehensive music school, which is one of the members of the "Escola de Música Creu Alta" in Sabadell (Barcelona). This is one of the great music schools in Spain (with more than 900 students), in the way of modern music training. I know them in guitar (electric and classical), piano (electric and classical), composition, music production (with Logic Pro), ensemble in modern music theory OP ALL LEVELS, from 100% beginners to men who want a bachelor's degree in music. I can afford to go through what the student wants to do in search, but I can afford to go through the decrease in the decrease also good plan, and I like us to work better on songs and works, depending on the aspect we want to work on (tempo, order, toonladders, feeling, improvisation...). Even if I think and if I play, I can be sure that in the aspect of the person, and in the aspect of the person, more problems are important, so I just do it! I think there is an empathetic person and an empathetic person, because we want to please each other, and that is the most important!! I speak 6 languages: Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Dutch and English, so we know how to minimize the importance of one of these languages. At least you can find midday seats (metro station Maashaven) where you have an online setup yesterday, online or to play this Thursday.

After 4-5 months of learning piano with Maria, I owe her big gratitude. I decided to learn piano as an adult and Maria helped me to overcome my insecurities in music and motivated me to keep trying and practicing. She truly cares about the whole learning experience and uses amazing methods to guide me not only in improving my playing skills, but also my musicality. The piano classes with Maria are always inspiring and challenging, but not overwhelming. In each class, she corrects the techniques and accommodates exercises for practice accordingly. I am really satisfied with her dedication and feedback. I cannot recommend Maria highly enough. In her teaching, she uses the right dose of professionalism, friendliness, patience, and understanding. Her enthusiasm for the music is so contagious. Her lovely and passionate nature and energetic vibes simply make the class an enjoyable learning experience. I cannot wait for the next piano class with Maria. :)

Sanja is fantastic! Her attitude towards how she teaches is refreshing as she let's her students, and actively encourages, making a song their own. I organised this for my fiancée as a surprise birthday present and she absolutely loved the experience! She is a very visual learner so the worksheets that Sanja had prepared were perfect, despite being aimed at kids, they worked wonders for her! I was allowed to sit close by too so I could enjoy the whole experience which was lovely. Thank you so much!! And we have already organised the next lesson.
