About Me

Intussen pakweg 15 jaar geleden beëindigde ik de academie met een goed, doch gemengd gevoel. Ik kon na lang oefenen enkele moeilijkere stukken naspelen, maar wist eerlijk gezegd niet altijd waarom ik zou verder oefenen. Ik bleef wat spelen nadien en zoeken: mijn interesse ging gaandeweg naar componisten zoals Mussorgsky, Scriabin, ... Waarom was me toen niet duidelijk. Ik begon dan op dag meer naar jazz te luisteren en wou het ook naspelen. Het voelde even als compleet opnieuw beginnen Alweer een lange weg te gaan. Echter, nooit was mijn interesse groter dan nu in piano en muziek in het algemeen. Oorzaak daarvan was het mezelf verdiepen in harmonieleer, akkoordenleer, soorten toonladders, de jazz-aanpak van piano spelen die toch wat complementair staat op de klassieke aanpak staat zoals de academie ze me leerde. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years.
I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses.
The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities.
